Spa hotel, but swimming pool is not a strong side there

Pros: The staff in the restaurant - super friendly and helpful. Give them a rise!

Cons: I have chosen this hotel to have the swimming pool, I use often. I assumed the Spa hotel, with a pool should provide good quality in this area. The swimming pool - one out of 8 showers worked in men's changing side. Smelled bad. The changing lockers locks worked one of 5 I have tried. The swimming pool not suitable for sport swimming, too small and to many users at the same time. Little advice for the pool manager - turn more lights on there, the poor lightning atmosphere is daunting there. And take care about men's changing room area and showers, they ruin the hotel's outlook, I would give zero stars for it!

Large chain like hotel experience with basic expected conveniences but nothing special.

Pros: Good location, ample parking and very spacious lobby. Breakfast was fine but not included. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were mostly clean. The pool area is wonderful but is more of a community health club and was very crowed with children's swim lessons and others.

Cons: Carpets in both of the rooms my family stayed in were crunchy and felt very dirty. Hotel claims to be high end resort, but is dated and showing it's wear. Even though I stayed for 4 nights, they still charged an extra night for a booking error when my dates were wrong. They weren't full so they didn't loose on a new booking, just took the money grab that they could.

Pleasant overnight stay in Shearwater

Pros: Comfortable spacious foyer to sit in . Comfortable room and bed and very clean. Excellent food in bar. Chef agrreed to doing a half portion of roast lamb for my mother and myself at a very reasonable rate and it was superb. Staff very nice and helpful, esp in the bar and serving the food. Hotel close to shops. Few mins walk.

Cons: No newspapers in hotel. I had to go out and buy one. Foyer , alrhough lovely, could have been a bit warmer.
