Candlewood Hotel or Candlewood Suites Hotel, part of one of the biggest hotel conglomerates, the Intercontinental Hotels Group, is a leader in the extended-stay segment of the American hotel industry. Founded in 1995 by Jack Deboer, founder of the Residence Inn, and co-founder of the Summerfield Suites chain, Candlewood Hotel was later on acquired by IHG.

    I would definitely not stay...

    Pros: Free coffee
    Cons: The bathtub was not draining properly, even after two attempts to fix it. There was no room service because I was supposedly short of one day to get that service. Staff was not proactive about reaching out to me about new towels and trash bags - never communicated to me from the start. I was told I was not going to be charged for the first day on two separate phone calls on the way there, because of a late check-in, and they totally reverse their position on me. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. You could tell from the door jam that the room had been broken into in the recent past as well. In addition, I reserved an upper floor unit and they told me they would not honor it. I had to spend an hour and a half on the phone with booking.com to fight to get that back. Definitely treated as a second rate occupant because of going through booking.com according to the hotel.

    Pros: Location Coffee Room was clean and well equipped.
    Cons: Wifi was pretty much non-existent throughout our stay. Would have been nice if the staff gave us a heads up on this.

    Disappointing

    Staff rude, wifi really doesnt work, lobby door doesnt work, microwave doesnt work, old expensive hotel!

    Pros: Room size.
    Cons: Wi-Fi doesnt work, really bad experience, I had bad days because Verizon doesnt work on the second floor also. Microwave doesnt work and the cards to access the lobby doesnt work also, very inconvenient the advertising saying I need my card to open the lobby door or I can be charged extra money, so is necessary wait someone open the door to enter because you feel afraid to be charged in case you try be notice on the glass door for help. All this because the card system is old and doesn't work.

    Good location, clean and comfortable room with small well equipped kitchenette.

    Pros: Location was convenient for tourist spots and subway. Bed very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Gym was small but adequate. Nice to have a bath. Good blackout curtain. Grateful for the air con.
    Cons: Location didn't feel safe to walk alone at night. Kitchen could have used a kettle but there was a stove top pan to boil water. Some of the TV channels didn't have sound. A little noisy outside from the traffic. Air con was also quite noisy.

    Very pleasant experience overall.

    Pros: Great location, the room was nice and clean, kitchenette is a huge plus, however coffee/tea is also available in the lobby.
    Cons: AC/heater unit was loud. Other than that, no issues.

    Great experience

    Pros: Place and courteous staff. The staff were always ready to assist.
    Cons: Cleaning should be more than once a week, however it was not a bad arrangement but can be better.
