Fantastic wedding venue but hotel and room facilities let it down. Wouldnt return.

Pros: We were there for a wedding, which was lovely. Very nice surroundings and the marquee was great. Wedding food was really nice.

Cons: Room very dated. No hot water from the sink in bathroom. Breakfast quite poor. No clean tables when we got there. Waited a while to order and think we were forgotten about as others got theirs before us, and to be honest not worth the wait. I think they were just too busy and couldnt cope but they would have been aware of number of guests surely as we had booked well in advance for the wedding. Certainly wasnt worth the money we paid.

Pros: Nice location. Ingoing reception staff member very friendly and very pleasant. Room was actually OK and bed comfy. Room very basic and in fairness the room was clean. Good point, they accepted dogs and made a real effort to accommodate them. From there downhill

Cons: Had to go outside and across an open sad looking courtyard to get to the room. Exterior seriously in need of painting. Entrance to annex absolutely filthy. Very shabby. Requires a good clean and redecorate. Breakfast across the courtyard again. Cutlery grubby. Crockery for cereals and toast a mix of clean and grubby. Cooked breakfast near to inedible. It had been cooked and kept warm, so had actually dehydrated. Wrapped it up and took it to the dog and even he wouldn't eat it. Staff in restaurant poor. No welcome. Almost monosyllabic. All in all, very poor.

Ok for the price and lovely location

Pros: The location was lovely and the actual layout and rustic look of the property were great , we even had a nice walk down the canal the following morning after breakfast

Cons: The room was a little dated ie the wallpaper was starting to peal off and could do with an update and possibly a new mattress on the bed as it was very uncomfortable , the water pressure to the shower and bathroom sink was not very good so it took my partner a while to wash her hair , but in general we enjoyed our stay
