Best Western Plus founded by M.K. Guertin started in 1946 and began as an informal channel between the properties and the guests or travelers. Guertin with over 23 years of experience in the lodging and accommodation business started this “guest referral system” mainly through phone calls from his office to the that of the property. By 1962, Best Western Plus became the first ever hotel reservation covering the entire United States.

A year after, the Best Western Plus became the largest motel industry in the nation with 699 properties and 35,201 rooms under its management. Membership loyalty programs became a “thing” during the late 1980s for most hotels operating in the Americas. Best Western Plus launched its Gold Crown Club International Program and acquired 200,000 members the same year and with sales of more than $40 million.

Best Western Plus continued its expansion and reaches places like Greece, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana. BY 2015, a new master band logo was introduced, giving it a more modern and polished look, intended for the upper midscale market. At present, there are over 4500 privately owned hotels in 100 countries and territories working under the Best Western Plus brand.

    Adequate for what we wanted

    Pros: We attended a wedding at the hotel so was very convenient
    Cons: The room we were allocated was very cold when we arrived and was under some stairs. It was quite noisy when people went up and down the stairs.

    Enjoyable weekend

    Pros: Paulo gave excellent service to us in the morning for breakfast. Bar area lovely, staff fantastic. Breakfast and dinner are excellent.
    Cons: Room not made up for one day as they forgot to put us on for the 2 night stay. But, when asked if we could have coffee, etc, in the room, that was all replaced.

    Cons: I was hoping you would not send this as I was not going to complain but I know you are quite aware of the issues the Elkington party were met with on the Saturday evening.I would never recommend your venue for any special event.

    Won’t be staying again…

    Pros: Had a good sleep in the most comfortable bed ever….
    Cons: Cold Shower. No Heating. The breakfast.

    Pros: Spending the time with my family and the look appeal
    Cons: The room was cold the shower was also cold the staff on the desk are rude and un courteas the bar staff let banned drug dealers who cause havoc and abuse on an evening into the bar most of the food was warm and not that great

    Nice place, please sort the...

    Pros: The grounds were lovely and an ideal location to what we needed it for.
    Cons: There was a constant knocking / banging right above our bedroom. When approaching the staff member in the morning she was really dismissive and informed us “the maintenance man isn’t here”. This meant for the full two nights we slept in total around 5/6 hours. Her attitude was shocking.

    Pros: Nothing was too much for the staff who were very helpful and friendly.
    Cons: Could hear people talking and moving things. Walls thin. It could be a problem if there was a lot of noise
