Never Again!

Pros: The hotel location was close to where I needed to be. Never had breakfast.

Cons: The halls were dirty. My neighbors were two kids from a soccer team who were threatening each other whenever they were in the room. Hotel staff tried to break into my room in the middle of the night. No warning, no phone call just using a tool to break into my room. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE STAFF?????

Though it was only one night, I enjoyed the stay very much.

Great facilities, comfort to explore Anna Maria Island at a more than reasonable price.

Pros: We were more than pleasantly surprised with our stay. Greeted by a really cheerful member of staff, tea, coffee etc on tap in the lobby 24/7, a nice touch. We were at the end of a 19 day trip around Florida, so wanted a big room with two beds to rejig our baggage for the flight home (extra shopping!) we were not disappointed. luggage trolleys were useful and not always an option in hotels, we were able to unload quickly. Whilst breakfast was in the reception area it was very good, lots of choices with a hot option, bagels, waffle maker etc as well as cereals, yoghurt. I carried my gym stuff all around Florida but never did get to use it as we were out all the time but the gym looked ample. Laundry facilities were fine too. We have never dined in a Cracker Barrel but after arriving after 8pm, it didn't disappoint to satisfy us and on the same lot too, so fab. A full fridge in the room is always a bonus too to chill the drinks A big thank you to all the friendly, courteous staff too, every one of them!

Cons: Where to start... First obvious point was there were two rowdy parties in-process on our arrival, across the hall 2-doors down, and next to use behind the bed's wall. (In morning saw next door neighbor throwing out what was close to 100 snack bags.) Once opening the room, hit with a powerful smell of bleach, and in the morning a musty smell. Many reviews (discovered later) spoke of serious mold problems. Next, the bathroom floor was soaked, appears to be the toilet water supply leaking or some such. The patched, unpainted wall was next noticed, followed by the grimy end table glass. The shower handle was barely functional and loose. (Related pictures provided) Just outside the window is a powerful parking lot light (see picture). The morning breakfast OJ was browning, etc. Just bad! Best Western is often a risk as their standards are not particularly high or well enforced (not sure which), and in this case, a bad experience. FWIW, for the many tough reviews for this property the following is part of the response, which is inadequate based on the circumstances: "I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience.
