Cons: It's still being remodeled but the concept is nice, I would recommend it for young people. I'm a light sleeper and since the room faces the hallways, it was somewhat difficult to fall asleep because of the noise.

Cons: The hotel is currently under construction, so it does not have almost any of the facilities which were described in the booking.com page (no fitness room, no sundeck, no pool). The room was renovated (partially - having the old bathroom), but it did not have hot water. Some of the electrical equipment was not installed. I tried to use the coffee machine, but it was not working as it was missing the cord. The hotel is situated in a shady area - there are lots of homeless and drug users nearby. We were trying to change the room after discovering that the water was not working, but the change of the room did not solve the problem. There was no hot water in the entirety of the hotel.

Excellent value for money, clean...
Pros: The rooms and lobby at Soma house are recently fully refurbished, really really comfortable, clean and fresh. The staff are welcoming and so helpful especially Naomi. A short walk to public transport, a grocery store, laundromat and the bustling centre of the city. 10min public transport ride to the waterfront.
Cons: Some of the new renovations are still ongoing such as the gym and restaurant. The area is in the heart of homelessness in SF which was confronting but I had no trouble.

I personally wouldn’t stay there...
Pros: My bedroom is clean, and the lobby was clean. The front desk lady was extremely nice.
Cons: When I arrived, there were a lot of homeless around the property, and it made me very nervous getting out of my car. Also, soon as I got out of the elevator to the third-floor, I could see that the complex was not done and there were several room still under construction. I felt really sketchy walking by hallways and rooms that were boarded up. When I got in my room, I didn’t have a latch on the door to make the room feel more secure. I just felt uneasy all night and I couldn’t really get any rest. Also, some of the outlets didn’t work in the bathroom where the shower was felt like an old hospital bathroom.

Passable
Pros: The staff was friendly !
Cons: At first check in, I was assigned a room that smells very badly. I asked the reception and they assigned another one.
The rooms do not have windows that you can open to let fresh air in. So, if you want air in your room you gotta leave the door open. That doesn't make sense.
