The PERFECT stay for our Once In A Lifetime Weekend!

Pros: Firstly, this was a very important stay! It was mine and my future husbands Wedding Weekend. We arrived at the Best Western Ivy-Hill Hotel and were immediately greeted by smiley and welcoming Lauren who began taking our details for checking in. We had booked the Honeymoon Suite as it was to be our Wedding the following day at nearby Newland Hall, Roxwell. The warm, friendly and massively accommodating Libby (the Hotels Manager) was around the corner and came out to welcome us and wish us well for our upcoming weekend. Straight away we were at ease. The staff from here onwards were just perfection. Caring, approachable, efficient and attentive. Nothing was too much and every request was dealt with with no bother. We had a meal for 11 in the glorious BARTELLAS Restaurant that evening. The wonderful host, LORNA couldn do enough for us. But by no means was she intrusive or encroaching on our meal. She was accommodating, fun and full of life and I can 100% say that she made our evening! Of course the food was scrumptious, but without Lornas treatment, it wouldnt have been the evening we had! The morning of our big day we chose to have a few drinks outside in the glorious sunshine, and again, Libby was there to add another finishing touch in the was of a few complimentary nibbles. The wedding was just perfect, and we returned, along with over 30 of our friends and family who were also staying at the Ivy-Hill and the night porter kept us going serving us in the bar until well after the time we expected to bar would close!! The breakfasts were out of this world! I couldnt fault a thing. And they also had oat milk for our coffee (which isnt always the case at many hotels!) The room was stunning! Decadent in its decor and romantic, we absolutely loved it! It was the PERFECT stay for our Wedding Weekend!

Cons: Very noisy live band playing at a wedding reception below our room. Pull out sofa bed very uncomfortable for the 2 children sleeping on it

Ideal for my purpose

Pros: Location was perfect for me, near friends. Room was very small but perfectly OK for me, and about what I expected for the cost.

Cons: Water for shower could have been hotter, grab handle on side of bath would have helped with shower and bath combined.

Staying away during a building project!

Pros: The breakfast was exceptional - gorgeous buffet table and marvellous cooked food. Other hotels in the area should visit to see what good looks like!

Pros: Lovely hotel, rooms spacious and clean with lovely garden views. The staff were super friendly, helpful and professional.

Cons: Only downside for some maybe, is that youre close to the A1 but we knew that when we booked. It wasnt an issue at night.

Cons: I'm not too sure of the 40 deposit that is taken from your card on arrival. Which I then had to ask for it to be put back on my card on checkout.

Pros: The Ivy Hill Hotel is a classy hotel with good parking and impressively big rooms. Dinner and breakfast were good quality and attentively served.

Cons: We were wrongly charged for two breakfasts instead of one, which we discovered after checking out. The reception lady I spoke to on the phone promised to give me a refund, but she never did. I got my refund when I phoned again and spoke to someone else, but it was disappointing to have to press the hotel over this.

We really like this place - we've stayed before and will do so again!

Cons: Room old suit. Bathroom rattled, dirty tiles and taps wallpaper peeling off the wall over bed head but it served its purpose. 13 minutes from a wedding venue which we wanted. Had breakfast, asked for an omelette - but was told unable to do - other than what was in the buffet.
