    Pros: the food was very good
    Cons: very busy, people walking around in dressing gowns, no air conditioning, noisy as lots of teens in the river all afternoon and noisy very wary as breakfast was prepared and served. very expensive compared to much better 5 star chateaux we had stayed in throughout the week

    A lot of fun and pleasure.

    Pros: Surroundings are green and lush, property gives a Fawlty Towers vibe - which i loved. Also the bath tube whirl pool in our room was very pleasurable.
    Cons: Outdated and old fashioned - but its also charming. One of our rooms had a very strong and bad chemicals smell. Chemicals probably used to hide the cigarette smell of the people that smoked there before.

    Quiet relaxing luxury!

    Pros: Nice, quiet out of the way castle. Close to honfleur and convenient to the chteau de Breuil which has a Calvados distillery tour. We were given coupons by the chteau de belle isle sur Risle for a free tour. Had a wonderful dinner on our first night.
    Cons: No elevator, so we decided to stay in a different room so we did not have to carry our suitcases up the stairs to the attic room. The other building that we stayed in was lovely and had a rooftop terrace.

    I would stay again but dine in town as the Restaurant Gastronomique was very poor.

    Pros: Lovely grounds and comfortable room
    Cons: The hotel decor is a little dated and showing some signs of wear and tear but of more importance was our very poor restaurant experience. The Matre dhtel made my wife and I wait 40 minutes for our table and in that time he and the waiting staff ignored several requests for the 2 glasses of wine that we had ordered as an aperitif and then even ignored us when we asked for water. After a lot of theatrics on the part of Maitre d we were eventually seated and we were then very disappointed to find that the food was bland and that the service was aloof and actually felt rather amateurish. We absolutely love touring good hotels and restaurants in France but this reminded us of the bad old days, before the French service sector embraced the notion that quality food with good customer service is actually good business.

    Cons: Outside tables not cleaned, lack of toiletries in an expensive hotel. Spa area and inside pool disappointing - needed pre booking to be turned on

    Pros: Beautiful property well kept, nice lake , excellent service( Michel he is a great asset to the property , excellent customer skills ), good food and wine, clean rooms, nice spa and swimming pools.
