Comfortable hotel in the centre of town

Pros: A good location in the centre of Ubud, very near the monkey sanctuary. The staff were friendly and attentive and the room was comfortable and clean. This is a big hotel covering a large area but didn't seem overcrowded, even at busy times like breakfast. I has a paddy field in the middle of the site which gives a feeling of space. Once inside the hotel you are not aware that you are in the centre of the town.

Beautiful hotel in the center of ubud

Pros: This hotel is a great location in ubud, near the monkey Forrest and plenty of restaurants and a short walk to Ubud palace. The hotel is set back so its really quiet and peaceful by the pool. All the staff are really friendly and accommodating. We didnt have breakfast included as there were so many places around the hotel for breakfast, Pison next door does the best breakfast!

Pros: I loved the view from the balcony overlooking the rice paddies, the friendly staff, the location near the Yoga Barn, the gardens and swimming pools.

Pros: Very central. Perfect place as a base from where you can explore the rest of Ubud/Bali. Clean and spacious. Well appointed rooms, smiles all around from staff, very polite, eager to help and assist (we even got breakfast parcels on our last morning for our early morning check out which was a really nice touch. Thank you!)

Cons: That we were given rooms way at the back and on the 5th floor which was quite a walk every day! We thought this was not called for as there were so many vacant rooms available (same type) on the ground floors with a view etc so we really didn't understand why the distant location!

Lovely hotel in central Ubud, great for families and couples

Pros: Lovely rooms, very spacious, huge beds! We had a room on the 3rd floor with a very spacious balcony overlooking the pool area. Location is great, you can walk to the monkey forest and other areas in Ubud reasonably quickly, and there is a great supermarket a few meters down the road (and a pharmacy about 50 meters the other way if you need it). Lobby is very nice and staff were very helpful when checked in. Breakfast is half buffet half small ala carte, not a massive selection but more than enough, and good quality. I liked the banana bread on the ala carte menu. Pison cafe is connected to the hotel via walkways through the rice paddies, which is a great choice for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Two pools to choose from and our boy liked the shallow area of the main pool. Would definitely stay again when we travel to Ubud.

Cons: My togs/swimwear ended up green from the pool. The pool itself seemed clean but after a few swims my new togs were noticeably green-tinged, and my wife and boys togs also suffered a similar fate. So beware if you are wearing anything light-colored or white in the pool!

Great location, spacious rooms, You are being charged for a 5 star hotel when it should be a 3 star.

Pros: Great Location, next door to Yoga Barn, couple of minutes walk to the Monkey forest, about 25 minute walk to the Palace in Ubud, surrounded by shops and cafe's and transport. Rooms were a great size !

Cons: Breakfast was a non starter, small buffet, limited choice, handed a menu that seemd to be a repeat of the buffet with a few extra's added, no different breads, all different shapes and sizes but just the same bread, (white very processed.) Egg station, when you go up they say "take a seat and we will bring it to you ", you watch as more and more people go up and get their eggs etc , after 10 mins you go back, rest of your food now cold, then they start making your eggs very confusing !! tried a new method to order from menu, asked for 3 poached eggs on toast for myself, out came 3 separate plates, each with one piece of toast each with one egg ! ( 3 plates for 1 person ) Asked for tea with cold milk on side, out came x2 pots of hot milk with a tea bag in it. Gave up and had breakfast at a cafe... Staff are lovely and try very hard to do what you request,they are very obliging just feel that there is no management giving them dedicated jobs, so everyone running around just trying to please without any guidance. Hotel is tired, bit scruffy, the rice paddock nr pool is more like a waste ground. No lifts so difficult for aged people , babies, or disabled. They have a sign as you leave reception saying kids pool, it is a tiny pond that has been drained of the fish & lilies !!!!! It is dark grey slate so very hot, it has sharp corners and is next to the smoking area in the cafe ! Never saw one child nr it as filters still had algae on them. Rooms very dark need lights on even in the day. It is quite difficult to try find a 5 Star hotel in centre of Ubud as they tend to be further out on the out skirts of town.We stayed in a 5 Star hotel in Sanur & Nusa Dua on our trip , both fantastic, Alaya was an over priced dissapointment . Keep looking !!!

Family-friendly hotel

Pros: Everything! Price-wise for the room that I got it was fantastic. Clean environment, well designed exterior and neat lush greeneries. My kids loved it, especially the shallow pool area. Will be coming back for sure.
