The Egyptian Vacation Club (EVC) is a company that branched out from another company which was purchased in early 1980's. In 1983, Egyptian Vacation Club’s owners Mr. Anwar Helal, and Mr. Ahmed Hosni bought the Safaga Travel whose main work focused on Classical, Nile Cruise, and Safari. As charter flights start coming to Egypt, its owners take advantage of the necessity to find accommodation for the growing number of clients. In 1991, the first hotel of the company, Sharm Club has begun its operation. Today, the company has three more hotels and resort, the Tamra Beach Resort, Sharm Reef Resort and the Club Reef Resort.
