Pros: Great location and friendly staff. We have enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was excellent . Short walking distance from the centre. Beautiful beach

Cons: The pillows are really uncomfortable, non of us could sleep properly for the two nights we stayed there.

Pros: Really nice food. Best what we had in Mexico. Nice, friendly waiters. Really recommend to pay for all inclusive, the food is delicious and it would be much cheapper then to go out. The prices on the island are really really really unbelievable high. Especcialy one bar just out of the hotel on the right side Im not joking we paid for 2 cuba libre and 2 glasses of wine 76 dollars!

A nice property that now requires more attention to detail and front desk service.

Pros: There are many things to like about the location and layout of the property. The rooms are well-laid out and good-sized. A generous breakfast is provided, and the wait staff are very attentive. The room was nicely cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. The property has beach chairs in close proximity to the shore. While this is a substantial property in extent, it always feels user-friendly with low-rise buildings of two and three stories, lush vegetation, and sand paths that are raked daily. Management will provide a very well-organized transit from Cancun airport.

Cons: This was our third visit to this property, and we felt that maintenance had slipped a bit. Our bathroom faucet was clogged to the point that it sprayed water on the user. The faucet assembly was loose, as was the toilet seat. Our request to have this looked at brought no results. The shower could be upgraded to include a handheld unit. Many of the beach chairs were in poor condition and the pool was generally too cloudy to invite use. Apart from the buffet breakfast, the food was uninspired, with soggy nachos for example. Fortunately, there are many fine restaurant opportunities in Holbox for lunch and dinner. The front desk seemed disorganized. A question regarding yoga opportunities got no response, even though a property two doors down offered yoga. Worst of all, they now require a deposit for hotel charges, something we were not informed of on check in and caused an embarrassing situation when we expected to charge our lunch on the beach. There was no apology for failing to inform us of this. Check out involved leafing though a random bundle of papers to sort out some charges that had been charged twice. There does not seem to be an efficient payment management system and many separate deposits are required.

A Big mistake to ever stay there! Big disappointment!

Pros: Breakfast was ok. Some food was good some very average . Room size was very good. Location good. Service for food and beverage by the ocean beds - good. Massage girls were good!

Cons: Reception desk staff very unmotivated to help clients feel taken care of. We were robbed right on our terrace of our room and they offered no help and no reason as to how it happened. They just are not happy to help. They could not be bothered by your issues. Had to ask for toilet paper. Ask for hot water to be turned on. This Hotel is the opposite of what service should be. They dont try to accommodate you. They have silly rules and for them , clients seem to be last in priority. It was like staying at a glorified hostel. Not a pleasant experience at all. Hotel is tired and needs to be refreshed. Pool area very tired not sunny at all. The pool is never cleaned properly also. And at the end when paying for extras they tried to dodge me into paying extras that I had already paid for. This Hotel should be rated a 3 star maximum. Not impressed by their lack of service to satisfy customers. Never again would I stay there and never would I refer this hotel to anyone. Im really starting to doubt Booking.com rating methods

Best Resort in Holbox

Pros: We've been coming to HM Paraiso for the past 6 years. Anywhere from 2-4 times a year. We've stayed in other resorts and they don't compare to the service, staff, location, amenities, or suites.

Stingy hotel policies and false advertising of rooms + all inclusive option

Pros: Its a beautiful property, close to the beach, with a lot of potential. The pool was lovely and room was nice.

Cons: The room on that we booked (junior suite) claims to have a balcony and the cover photo for the room is literally of a balcony. However, we ended up in a room without a balcony and the staff was unwilling to accommodate us to move us to a room with a balcony. Generally I felt like the hotel has a lot of potential to be a wonderful luxury experience, but the staff werent very friendly or hospitable or helpful and seemed uninterested in prioritizing the comfort of the guests. There are little things that the hotel did that made us feel like they were being extremely cheap or stingy, and either falsely advertising aspects of the hotel or just adding unnecessary steps to make things less easy for guests. For example, the hotel offers an all inclusive option for around $300 extra per night - but when you look at the restaurant menu, this literally only applies to the most basic meals and those guests still have to pay for better food. Or, to borrow the pool/beach towels, they place an $80 hold on your card in case you lose them. Or, rather than charge meals/drinks to the room, they make you pay after each order, making the experience less convenient and more of a hassle for the guest. The hotel fails to prioritize the comfort and leisure of the guests, which is literally their job. Instead, they make you jump through hoops to access basic amenities even though youre already paying an arm and a leg to be there. Finally, our first night, there was a big storm, which caused the entire island to be severely flooded, so we couldnt walk to town without walking through the streets with water up to our ankles. This is obviously not the hotels fault, but flooding is common on the island, and makes the mosquito problem worse, so I dont really recommend Holbox for this reason.

Pros: Beautiful, clean hotel. We were in a front beach suite which was lovely. Nice breakfast.

Pros: The hotel was very nice altough we did not stay at Parasos del Palmar but in Palapas del mar,breakfast buffet is very good.

Cons: Hotel was OK. I had been to Holbox 9 years ago and I thought the island would be more or less the same.NO WAY!!! .If your idea of vacations is endless bars, restaurants, yoga, massage parlors,tours, kite surf schools one after the other along the beach and endless golf cart taxi traffic then Holbox is for you. If you want quiet, natural beauty of endless white beaches this is not the place anymore.Sargazo is an issue,the smell of mountains of rotting seaweed did not bother me very much but this prevented my wife from even stepping on the beach.

A disappointment

Pros: The area was beautiful and it was easy to walk to The village.

Cons: We were in Mexico on a longer visit. This was The last - and most expensive - hotel we stayed at, but by far The hotel where we felt The least welcome. The internet was not reliable, The food was mediocre, and service was in general very very slow. If you stay at villa paraiso del mar, dont buy The food, you Can get it much better - and cheaper in The village (within walking distance). There is hot water in The shower, and The place is pretty - but food and service is much better elsewhere.

Pros: Great location. Check in was a quick and easy process. Our room was well air conditioned.

Cons: The bikes werent available to use. The breakfast was very good however you had to pay additional for a latte.

Pros: The food is good

Cons: Old style, staff not really nice, we found a cockroach in the room. We paid for a room with terrace and they assigned us one without it. We complained and they said that a room with balcony was not available for that day. A lot of drunk people in the pool since theres the option of all included.
