    A really nice hotel in a beautiful place

    Pros: We loved the view, and the friendly staff. The building has character, and is ideally placed for the town. Lots of restaurants nearby - it pays to check with TripAdvisor.
    Cons: The only problem we found was the nearby La Scala "restaurant" who employed a man who thought he could sing, and confused volume with quality. If you can imagine a hoarse, drunk Rod Stewart impression, you get the idea. This happened every night until midnight, and as good as the double glazing and shutters are, they could not shut out the caterwauling. It is apparently legal, and the hotel was unable to do anything about it. We could not use the balcony in the evening, because we could not hear each other talking. The rooms at the rear of the hotel (without balconies) are quieter. In the UK, the local council would shut it down, but not there apparently. It seems so unfair that the hotel may lose business due to a noisy inconsiderate boor. They certainly don't deserve to. Take earplugs, and you will be ok

    Pros: The only positive was the location and the view from the terrace.
    Cons: After travelling for a while this was our least favourite hotel that we stayed in. In all of our many years of travel I have never come across a hotel that centrally controls the air conditioning. Which means that they control the hours it can be turned on. I woke up every day at 3am dripping in sweat. I was told to open the balcony door to let air in. It did nothing and on top of that the noise from outside was very loud and the mosquitos came inside our room and bit us. This resulted in me not being able to go back to sleep. Very hard to deal with when you are jet lagged and dealing with 30 degree days and we were also celebrating our wedding anniversary. By the end of my stay I felt very run down and tired. On top of this we found the manager Malena to be extremely rude. If good ventilation, aircon and customer service is important to you then I highly dont recommend this place.

    Pros: Location is amazing! The hotel is very interesting with antique pieces of furniture, that make the hotel looks unique! The bar in the hotel very nice with spectacular view and the barmen very professional- amazing drinks, even he gave us cognac in warm glasses- outstanding!!!
    Cons: The air condition works on schedule.

    Lovely stay in Taormina

    Pros: The Hotel was easy to reach from Corso Umberto. The breakfast was delicious, except for the coffee which was too americano for our taste. Great value for money.
    Cons: A mini fridge in the room would have been nice.

    Pros: Excellent location, right in the middle of the main area. Probably the best views of the main area and sea from roof top terraces. Great drinks and barman. Taormina accommodation is more expensive than other areas in Sicily but was pretty good value considering the area.

    Fine if you don't go to bed till after 1 AM

    Pros: Location and breakfast was great.
    Cons: The nights were awful! The noise from the restaurant and bars below didn't stop till almost 1 AM. And it was loud, seriously loud. Then a woman walked down the halls at 2 PM singing at the top of her voice. They were supposed to change our room after the first night, but since we couldn't hang around the next morning as we were due to be at Mt. Etna for an excursion, they didn't do anything at all. Hotel is dated, needs a refreshment of furnitures etc., repainting the walls in some areas. Lighting was really bad in the bathroom over the sink. No parking except parking lot about 500 meters away that charged 25/day, followed by a steep climb back to the hotel.

    Pros: Beautiful location, amazing views, lovely room, huge terrace
    Cons: No air conditioning from the 1st October, temperature was in mid 30C in the day and it was very hot in the room. Also, breakfast choices were very poor, no choice at all really, same thing every day. Ham, cheese and cakes. For breakfast!
