I hope they reopen it....

Pros: For hostel, it was really comfortable. I like that the rooms and bathrooms were together. Unfortunately, I believe this property is closed which made me quite sad. It was great when I just needed a place for a day or two to land in Chicago and I was busy out during most of the day.

Cons: I wish that the TV room was open for a longer period of time. It was quite comfortable and I was enjoying getting my work done and there.

Low budget but uncomfortable

Pros: Low budget. The bunk beds were nice and felt private in a shared dorm. One member of staff, I can’t recall his name, was kind and remembered my name which felt personal.

Cons: Unfortunately there are a few things I didn’t like about this property. In general despite it being a newer takeover, it’s an old building, so the rooms could generally do with an upgrade. The water system was constantly making noise in my room and the toilet didn’t flush properly. I had to work through the weekend and the temperature of the lounge areas was too high, it was quite uncomfortable but I was informed that due to the central heating system this couldn’t be altered. Then on the Monday when I asked to use the meeting room space for an important client call I was informed they’re all locked all day and I couldn’t get access, which is highly disappointing for a residence which is intended to be set up for people to work. The staff on this particular day were not kind or friendly. Finally the drink options from the vending area were all warm, which was challenging given the lack of local grocery stores on the doorstep, and the kitchen did not offer any cutlery or plates, which I’ve seen in other shared kitchens.

Pros: The location was good. And maybe it’s an ok choice if you need a bed only.

Cons: When I booked this accommodation it was with the breakfast provided. But when I came there the staff said that they don’t have breakfast (but I have proof in the email). Also it is specified that they have a kitchen, but they close it. They specified that they have “morning coffee” but they don’t. Hotel looks abandoned like it is closing. Nobody cares about you, the room was in an awful condition. they don’t even have a drink water. So do not book this accommodation unless you want to ruin your vacation.

Pros: We had not visited this hotel since its conversion after the pandemic to accommodate hostel-type travelers with several rooms on the second floor for various group activities. The group kitchen seemed cramped. The other rooms were nice but empty. Our room was rather dark, without any cups at all. The desk was large and handsome. The TV worked perfectly. The hotel is very clear you are on your own for parking, and we used the parking garage on Pearson, an easy walkwe bought online our 24-hour parking pass, which got us in no trouble, but would not let us out without paying again, so we paid about $30 and then $50, and there was no human being in the garage to help.
