Pros: I was in Chengdu to visit my friend and the town. I always wanted to visit The Temple House as well, because I appreciate the same group hotels in Beijing where I live, The Opposite House and East. The Temple House was so good that I almost forgot to visit the town. I spent more time in the hotel and its facilities than outside. That gives me a very good excuse to be back in Chengdu and The Temple House for longer. First , the architecture mix of old temple construction and modern glass building, the public spaces outside, underground, with small patios, giving at the same time the entertainment of the bar and the quietness of the pool loungers the room, with fantastic space, equipment and unique design. Second, the service, with an unique welcoming, attention during all the stay that was discrete, but really touching Third the facilities, with everything I like, the library in the ancient building, the swimming pool with steam room and sauna, the gym, perfectly equipped. Fourth, the food and beverage. Breakfast was perfect, outside or inside, with an extremely attentive service, good quality of food and drinks, diverse to answer the needs of everyone. The bar is a perfect place to chill out in the evening, outside, very good music, and original cocktails with quality finger foodand the Italian restaurant we tried, in a cosy patio, quiet, very nice food and good service. And on the top of it the location in the heart of Chengdu and the extremely well designed TaiKooli Even if I knew that the hotel was very nice, I didnt expect such an experience. Thanks again it was only my first stay there

A bit of luxury in center of Chengdu

Pros: This is a beautiful hotel in a great location in Chengdu. Gorgeous combination of old and new buildings. We got upgraded to a courtyard suite which was an amazing room on two floors. The bed was SO comfy! Also loved the free snacks and drinks in the mini bar. Breakfast was absolutely superb. We didnt have brekkie included with our room rate but thought the 160 RMB for unlimited breakfast was really good value and everything we tried was delicious! Would really recommend the outside bar in the hotel too.

Cons: For a hotel of this quality (and price) we were a bit disappointed with the gym. My partner and I are into fitness and like to workout on holiday. Some of the equipment was very outdated and severaL treadmills were broken each day. It was also far too hot in the gym and bottles of water werent available, only paper cups which you cant balance on the equipment. A small thing but would expect better in a 5* hotel and this is an expensive hotel by Chengdu standards!

Pros: The rooms are chic and very comfortable, great combination of East and West. We like the shopping tote, the toiletries for children are great! Love the bathrobe which are just the right fit, unlike the usually oversized ones found in almost all hotels. Excellent location, right in Taiguli, the chic trendy area. Excellent hotel, we will stay here again next time!

Cons: The light switches are not easy to operate, and it took us a few tries to get the right lighting.
