About Super 8 Motel By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Super 8 began its first operation in Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1974 and has rooms rate starting at $8.88 a night, thus explaining the “8” attached to the hotel brand. From a simple motel chain, Super 8 grew immediately and became available for franchise 2 years after its conception. The business started with Dennis Brown in 1972. However, after one year of operation, Ron Rivett and Dennis Brown cancelled the association and created the Super 8 Motel corporation, splitting the company in half between them. By 1993, Super 8 opened its 1000th property in Mount Vernon, Ohio, a milestone achieved in just two decades of operation. The number doubled by 2001 and became available through online reservations in 2014 after the company launches its website worldwide. In the United States and Canada alones, Super 8 has more than 2000 properties. At present, The Super 8 brand has also reached China, Germany and Brazil.

    Cons: We stayed the first night and then the second day I saw good fish everywhere. We didn’t have any good fish! There was also a shoe found under our bed the second night. I don’t know if someone was in our room or not but we still wonder how the goldfish got in the room on the floor and bed.

    Great accommodations in a superb...

    Pros: The room was fine. It smelled a little "musty" upon entry...and each time I opened the door; but was definitely accommodating. If you add hard boiled or scrambled eggs to the breakfast...I would give it a B+. There were many choices available from bagels, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, cereal, peanut butter, fruit, waffles, etc....I wanted to mention that the breakfast was just fine. I noticed some rough reviews before my stay regarding the breakfast. The staff works hard, the coffee is hot, and the selections are more than enough. It was more than fine. Great location! I loved the scenery, wildlife, and proximity to the Arena. The hotel staff is very warm, welcoming, and they aim to please. They are a personable bunch of people who truly focus on customer service....Quality! I have stayed here on multiple occasions, even when the facility was under different names. Levi at the front desk is the catalyst that makes this place tick!! That's obvious to me. Keep him happy, lol as I feel this place would suffer immensely without his guidance and expertise.... I say this as he was paramount in getting my room solidified for the extra 2 days, and when anyone else tried to help me with anything, it always circled back to him to do it for them. lol He seems to be the glue holding this facility together. I will def stay here again!
    Cons: some eggs and sugar free options at breakfast are all I would ask for as improvements. My stay was great, and the hosts were extremely accommodating in a busy time frame for Huntington hotels with the WVSSAC state wrestling tournament.

    Outstanding, much better after being...

    Pros: The staff was outstanding, the manager was so kind. He even rotated my laundry and folded it while we attended my son’s concert!! Amazing management!
    Cons: The last night was alittle tough, nothing on the staff, young kiddos running up and down the hall..

    It was okay.

    Pros: It was nearby the medical center we had to go to. And had an indoor pool.
    Cons: We had two beds and I went to tuck my 5 year old in and there was a cigarette hole in the blanket. She refuses to sleep with it. We got a new one. Then, the other bed, also had a cigarette hole in it but we let it go bc I’d already waited 20 mins for the front new blanket. On top of that, The front desk never seemed happy. You’d think they’d be happy to have our business but I guess not. Didn’t wish for us to come back when we left or anything. I worked at two different hotels and personally and professionally thought it was managed horribly. I did tip the housekeeper though.

    Cons: The big ass hill sucks because if your car or child or anything got too close it’s going over the hill that made me uneasy but overall it was nice

    Pros: The bed was comfortable.
    Cons: When I booked the room, it was supposed to be around 76.00. However, I was charged 106.17. BIG DIFFERENCE. I WANTED TO PAY WITH CASH, AND THEY WOULDN'T LET ME. THERE BREAKFAST WAS ALMOST NONEXISTENT.
