Cozy, great location, modern room design.

Pros: Very nice rooms with stylish grungy design, perfect location near Galataport (shopping) and a very cozy restaurant street nearby. 15 minutes to Istiklal is also nice (be ready to climb uphill though). Decent breakfast in a hotel, plus you may use nearby bigger hotels facilities. A great experience overall.

Pros: Location was very near to Galata Port within 2 minutes walk and also near Taqsim area its around 10 minutes walk and also its facing cafe shops area and restaurant. Room is small with very small toilet but its so clean and comfortable. All the staff I met was very friendly and helpful

Pros: The hotel is a vibe! Great location, minutes away by walking to the famous Galata Tower and Galata port. The breakfast area had great views overlooking the Bosphorus. The staff where friendly and helpful.

Cons: Shower drain took forever to dispose of the water which lead to water flow leakages.

Pros: For me karakoy is best location to stay in istanbul, so the location of this hotel is really good. Near Galata port and Istanbul modern, 10 min to bazar / Taksim / besiktas/ ferry for asian side...

Cons: price performance is superb. Since i was very early departuring from the hotel, they prepared me a breakfast to go.

Good value for money, but located on a noisy street

Pros: The location is very near to public transportation, 1 min to tram and 8 min to the ferry on foot. It is near nice streets full of pubs, cafes and restaurants. The coffee machine and free daily water in the room are a plus. The breakfast was good, but we had the same thing over the 7 days we stayed there. The hot water pressure was great, and the beds were clean.

Cons: We couldn't sleep during our stay, the hotel is on a noisy street with a lot of noise from the cars and the petrol station nearby, and there is a mosque opposite the street with very loud calls for prayers at 5 am . The AC cannot be controlled as it is a central system to multiple rooms, so you need to open the window for fresh air and you will not be able to sleep from the noise either!! The light was so dim, and there was no wardrobe.

Pros: Do yourself a favor - dont book this hotel!

Cons: Very dirty and old. More like a hostel and definitely very used beds, hairs overall, no isolation and very very loud. Next to two mosques. But the worst is the staff, especially the general manager from the sister hotel Root. Please do yourself a favor and book another place, there are many better options within 300m. Gym is not usable for European standard due to mold and garbage room next to it (eventhough the manager says its possible as he is using it daily). You have to pay extra (from 70) for using the Spa which smells very strong. Staff totally unmotivated, not trained. The staff is waiting at the breakfast to start eating by themselves during the official breakfast times (not really working or caring for guests need). Its been a horrible experience, left the hotel earlier after a bad discussion with the manager. He was shouting at me, and definitely had some problems to accept that I dont want an upgrade but a refund as I was not willing to stay there. The hotel policy is not to refund, so be sure you want to stay there - otherwise you dont get your money back and you will be treated like a bad person. The manager put me on the street at 8pm after a long discussion with him and booking - at this moment the refund was not done and he was quite aggressive (young woman, traveling alone). Been to Turkey and especially Istanbul so many times - something like this never happened to me. So please do yourself a favor and dont book here. Its less quality than a hostel and you definitely get more value for your money and friendly staff elsewhere (check Galatas Hotel) who where able to help me out after the manager out my luggage on the street. Never again, it was s a horrible experience and Im more than disappointed how they treat people. Its dirty, smelly, loud, unfriendly and there is no need to stay in a accommodation (doesnt feel like a hotel) like this in Istanbul

Pros: Id stayed at Sub Karakoy before so no surprises (positive or negative), but the price was very favorable this time of year (winter), so even without anything spectacular about it, it was an ok stay.

Cons: The breakfast is not in the building itself, but in a sister hotel a few meters away. This is not a terrible thing by any means, but the last time I was there, I really liked the breakfast and the vibe of the space (on the premises) it was served. I asked for help with ordering a taxi to the airport and was quoted a price higher than it should have been. Not much, really, just 200 lira higher, but knowing the actual cost involved, it felt unnecessary.
