Pros: Hotel has experienced some updating. It's located in Old San Juan area near the ports. So if you are cruising no need to rent a car. Plenty to do in Old San Juan.

Great location - but in...

Pros: Location was perfect for us: easy to walk around Old Town sites, shops, and restaurants. Overall the staff was friendly during interactions. And our spacious room (and bathroom) looks like it had recently been renovated/updated. The shower was large and had good water pressure. It was nice to have a fridge and coffee maker with pods in the room. I understand this hotel has recently switched ownership so it is in a transition period.

Cons: The breakfast was not very appetizing to me, mainly the cooked foods (eggs/potatoes). The yogurt and granola was good! I went to the pool twice but both times was never able to get a pool towel. I was told to go to the front desk to request, which I also did twice. But still never got a towel for the pool. The water in the bathroom sink had zero water pressure. The bedding was horrible (but I think the mattress was ok). They only used flat sheets (no fitted sheets... and no fitted mattress pad). And the flat sheet never stayed tucked in under the mattress. So the mattress pad and the bottom sheet were always moving around underneath us and it was very annoying and uncomfortable to deal with. The pillows were also a bit flat. For the amount of money we paid to stay here, I was expecting so much more than what we experienced.

Pros: Location was perfect. Close to everything in old San Juan. The gym was relatively well equipped for a hotel.

Cons: The bedding was not comfortable. The pillows felt cheap and uncomfortable. The comforter felt plasticky. The floating wooden floor felt cheap. The elevators were old and slow. The breakfast buffet was average.

Pros: All the staff were very friendly and attentive to all of my needs. The room and all over the hotel was spotless very clean. Had restaurants and bars at site with great food and drinks will definitely be returning next time I’m in Puerto Rico!

Disappointing

Pros: It's a good location close to the ports, close to lots of restaurants and close to you mean tourist site

Cons: Our room was not ready upon arrival because we had four people and the rooms that were ready were only for 2 people. We arrived two hours after check in and had to wait another thirty or forty minutes until a room was ready for us. Even though the reservation was for 4 people every day the maids only left 3 towels and no bottles of water. The mattresses were soft and worn and we rolled to the center anytime we sat or slept. The staff at the front desk clearly did not want to hear our complaints and brushed us off or told us they would take care of it and never did anything. The breakfast which was provided for 2 people was mediocre at best, The danish was dry and the bagels tasted old. On the 2nd day we complained about the bathroom floor being dirty with stains and smelling like Urine and asked for it to be mopped and they either did a poor job of it or never did it because it continued to be dirty and smell. I actually used my personal lysol wipes and got down on my hands and knees and tried to scrub the floor. There was mold and mildew in the shower. The pool was tiny and had 10 to 12 chairs with no attendant or bar and little sun. We asked for our room to be cleaned, but it never happened.In several days we returned after 4 o'clock, but our room had not been serviced snd we still needed towels and to have the garbage removed. While they say that this is a newly remodeand refurbished hotel, it is very rundown and in need of remodeling. I was extremely disappointed and would never stay here again.

Cons: Booked for one night. When we arrived it was clear that serious renovation works were ongoing about which we had not been warned. Large queues to check in and out and lobby looked like a war zone. We immediately cancelled our reservation and in fairness were not charged for the cancellation.

Very overpriced work zone

Pros: The location is great BUT

Cons: Renovation we’re going on during our visit, which we were NOT told of. The safety hazards and mess were unacceptable. Only a skeleton crew was working. No welcome and the small cafe that had to be accessed via a trip around scaffolding past the disinterested door man down the steps and around the corner. When you get there it only seats 10-15 people and premade sandwiches only.

Pros: The size of the room was good. The comfort of the bed and furniture were nice.

Cons: The hotel had major construction going on to remodel the hotel. I paid almost $900 for 2 nights and they put me in a suite right above the construction. On top of that, the outside bar and music were directly below my room. The noise level was ridiculous. There was hammering going on above my room as well. When I complained to the hotel they said “it’s a really nice room and upgrade to the rest” and then argued with me about the hammering saying there was no construction going on at night, but yet the minute I called, at midnight, they said something in Spanish to someone else and the hammering stopped. We also had a cockroach running across the floor.
