I must tell you I’ve never been so disappointed in a resort. Upon arrival we were shuttled to 3 different desks to check in, the third we were promptly invited to use our “resort vouchers” to pay for upgrades that would cost a considerable amount over the vouchers face value (and the vouchers couldn’t be used for anything extra that would be at least $100 out of pocket) and we were also invited to sit in on a time share presentation. It’s very tacky to try to sell people before they even have a room. We went to get something to eat while we waited and our order took 30 minutes to arrive and it was cooked wrong. Dinner that night we waited over an hour and our order was not only wrong, it was barely cooked. We tried another restaurant but the salmon was so fishy that I coudn’t eat it and there was nothing else available. I wound up going back to my room and having a protein bar. The next morning we ordered room service and asked for egg whites and were brought hard boiled eggs and the oatmeal was so watery it was like soup so we couldn’t eat that either. Plus there’s times when all of the restaurants are closed so you can’t even eat like 11am-12:30pm and 4:30-6:30pm which is ridiculous. We went back to our room after check-in the first day expecting our welcome bottle of sparking wine and fresh fruit platter and it wasn’t there. We had to ask about it twice and it didn’t arrive until the next night and we got a bottle of champagne with no label and 4 chocolate covered strawberries. We tried to take a nap but the music from the pool area was blaring so loud it sounded like we were in a night club. We had the same problem at night with music blaring until after 10pm. We tried to change rooms and even hotels but nothing was available. Add these issues to the fact my husband ordered 1 hour dry cleaning which took over 6 hours, the room only had warm water for showers, not hot, and no one came to make up our room until we asked. Plus when we complained all I got was a “We’ll check into it but there’s nothing I can do”. The Japanese restaurant was the only highlight, they went out of their way to properly cook our food and make sure we were happy. Being a AAA 4 Star hotel I expected way more, especially for over $500 per night.

Pros: The layout of the room was gorgeous and it was wonderful having a hot tub on the balcony. They also had an excellent gym.

Cons: The food was sub-par and unavailable at peak times, two of the concierges were extremely rude and unhelpful, the welcome was a sales presentation, we didn’t get what we paid for.
