Disappointing stay at the Rama Beach construction site

Pros: The location was nice but thats all. We booked in for 6 nights, however upon arrival we observed the hotels restaurant was closed for renovation and they had never communicated that to us even though we booked our 3 rooms, 3 months prior to arriving. The constant noise of construction which is scheduled for the next 3 months drove us out to the point we demanded a refund for the remaining 4 nights for our party of 7. To managements credit we got a refund for the balance of our nights booked, but it wasnt easy.

Cons: The temporary restaurant in the meeting room was totally inadequate. There werent enough tables, where we had to sit outside in the sun. There werent enough staff to service the guests, so dirty uncleared tables sat for long periods. We had to ask to get a plate for food or the cutlery had ran out. The hot food choices were cold and dried up and the selection was minimal. From 8 am to 8pm the jack hammers went almost constantly in the restaurant which is right next to the pool area. As management received complaints they tried to drown the noise out by turning up the music at the swim up bar but the Jack Hammers won. It was miserable and gave me a headache. Many of the other guests were visibly unhappy with the noise and temporary breakfast venue on offer. We wasted a day trying to get our refund then packing up to find an alternative hotel for our remaining 4 nights. Very disappointing and I note that they are still accepting new bookings without one word of communication advising guests that the venue is a construction site.

Pros: The pool was lovely and cool. The rooms a large size and comfy bed.

Cons: At the time of my stay, renovations were underway and the noise was awful. Not very relaxing. It would be great if the property would advise of renovations at the time of my booking.

Great for our one night stay before flying home!

Pros: The family room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was nice. The staff were very friendly and were great with our 21 month old! They offered late check out for 50% of room cost and included transfer to the airport. This suited us well for our late night flight.

Cons: The pool was too deep to enjoy. 90% of the pool is 2.4m deep. There was only a small area for kids to play. Some of the beakfast options were quite dry by the time we got to it.
