Loved the hot pools and...

Pros: The on site thermal mineral pools were outstanding as well as the value for money breakfast. The staff were very helpful and cleaning staff very friendly.

Cons: The hotel was a little tired and needed some TLC, Overall very clean and safe.

Pros: Great location I forgot my shirts and staff rang me to inform me I left in cupboard, they then stored them for few days till I was travelling through town again

Cons: Very noise in morning’s with other guests and kitchen starting up, old hotel so thin walls Shower had absolutely no pressure at all And some strange reason thier was a pipe running through bedroom with extremely hot water in it along floor ,burn yourself if touch it and made bedroom very hot, needed a/c on at nite even though outside 14c

Pros: We liked the location and the mineral pools, although they were smaller than we were expecting. We also liked the private pool that you book at reception and the buffet breakfast.

Cons: The room did not look like the photo's, so we were disappointed when we entered our room (we got the 1 bdrm suite). We booked because we were expecting boutique style, but this just seemed old. I think it is overpriced. The TV was in the small lounge area, with no lazyboys, foot stools or anything to lie down and relax to watch the TV. We would've appreciated a TV in the bedroom, so we could relax and watch a movie in bed. Also, the TV reception was quite bad, so certain channels would cut in and out the whole time. Also, we booked the restaurant for dinner and I got the beef wellington, which was undercooked (with raw pastry), so I had to send it back to be re-done. They did bring out a much better one, but did not give a discount on the price (which was expensive at $50+). Also, when we went to pay, they had accidently added alcoholic drinks to our bill (from another table), so was a rigmarole to get those removed. I don't think I'll go back unfortunately, unless they reduce the price right down.

Elegance and Comfort

Pros: The breakfast was amazing, and my sisters and I treated ourselves to high tea, which was a wonderful selection of sandwiches, scones, and desserts. You can't beat the location - we picked it due to the hotel's proximity to the i-SITE where we were meeting a tour one of the evenings, and we quickly discovered we were just a short walk across the park from the Museum and the Rotorua Caldera.

Cons: There was free parking available, but not guaranteed. We ended up paying for a few hours when the lot was full.

Pros: the main building is very charming

Cons: Our apartment was situated in an anex, and had very dated decor and large stain on the carpet. Very different vibe from the main hotel building.
