    Excelent relaxing break apart from...

    Pros: The room was very comfortable, plenty of space and well serviced every day. Breakfast was very good, great choice and very good latte from the machine.
    Cons: I object to paying extra to park my car especially when the car park surface was less than satisfactory and there were no EV charging facilities. we have previously stayed at the Priory Bedford where car parking is included with the room.

    Wonderful

    Excellent stay- staff were polite...

    Pros: Central location and therefore very easy to visit the town and walk to the main railway station. Shops, restaurants etc all within easy access. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of choice available.

    Pros: Breakfast was good and room was really nice and spacious.
    Cons: During our stay was super windy and on the 6th floor the external windows were rattling, not so much a fault with the hotel but worth noting for light sleepers.

    Pros: I paid for a bigger bed, so bed was fine. bedding was clean. shower was nice and hot.
    Cons: Was expensive for what I actually got. Windows that looked like, if I lent on the glass, it would have fallen out! The glass was clued in with poorly placed mastic. It had a 12 mm gap, so the breeze coming in was delightful. luckily is was a good temperature outside. Had to pay to park my car in the hotel car park. This was unexpected but only a £5- carpets were stained and a little grubby. (please wear the free clean slippers, you may need them)thank god I was only there 1 night. Its a sugar coated tower block of flats. I couldn't check in until 3 pm, which I knew, but the receptionist made me wait 9 minutes in the lobby until dead on 3 pm, Really! Didn't eat the food here so, I cant comment. For the money, I wish I stayed somewhere else. I do feel I could of got better value for money.

    Pros: Initially our welcome and service was fantastic and the staff were lovely
    Cons: We got to our room and firstly noticed the interconnecting door which made us feel slightly uncomfortable and then the noise from the wind due to the double window was unbearable. It was so loud and disruptive we had to leave and go into town. On the second night we got back to our room and found we had neighbours next door who were having loud pre drinks and felt as they were in our room as we could hear every word they were saying through the interconnecting door. We felt uncomfortable and as my friend was quite unwell we needed a good sleep so went to reception to ask for a room change. We were met with dismissive attitude from staff and told there was no option to move. The next morning we were woken up by a barking dog in a room on the same corridor as us. We have stayed at the Mercure on our visits to Bedford and had planned to return in September but we are really reconsidering this sadly. I hope you can remedy this in some way

    Rooms great , staff is...

    Pros: Clean, great spacious room with comfortable bed.
    Cons: Stayed here on numerous occasions and never had any issues. Last night I felt insulted by the evening male manager that came to my room insinuating that my partner is my “visitor” as he called it. The way he spoke to me about having someone over after 10pm is not allowed? Excuse me ? I just checked in at 10pm while my partner arrived 15-20 later, I advised him to register his vehicle at the reception and get another room key for him to be told he can’t come in ?! Double excuse me ? This experience has literally left me speechless, the room was booked for 2 adults so I just couldn’t get it over in my head why he’s questioning our stay when we paid for the room on the arrival. We won’t be staying again.

    Superb

    Pros: Great room and nice view over the town. Room was spacious (Superior King Privilege Room) and had the facilities and amenities expected for the extra few quid.
    Cons: Bathroom was a little tired and in need of a refurb. Stains on some of the furniture and the flooring was a little off putting.

    great value stay already booking...

    Pros: friendly and helpful staff on arrival, clean tidy well presented room with a fair supply of tea and coffee. clean tidy bathroom with good towels the location on the riverside in the centre of town is a big advantage too so good we will be rebooking when we come with extended family later in the year

    Pros: Easy to find, nice people, quick check in/out. Central location. Fine bed.
    Cons: Cold water in shower as a start and then too hot and could not regulate. Water under the sink was floating. Heater worn and very noisy on/off.
