Pros: Great location . Beautiful old building. Enjoyable quirky and great value

Cons: Super room but very hot . The windows wouldn’t open and if they did they were covered in ivy so there would have been lots of crawlers coming in. The beds in this room single but large .I’d asked for a quiet room and was put over I think the boiler room . So there was a noise all night . Didn’t sleep . Asked to move . The staff were brilliant . The hotel is being updated and eventually will be brilliant.

A beautiful building, location great....

Pros: The hotel was clean, our room was much larger than the usual hotel room and so was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. Good tea/coffee facilities. Plenty of parking within the grounds. Location was excellent and was within walking distance to the town which had plenty of pubs and restaurants. The staff were very friendly. We didn't actually eat at the hotel but used the bar and drinks were priced reasonable.

Cons: The hotel is currently being refurbished so there was a lot of work going on but the builders didn't start too early in the morning so it didn't inconvenience us at all.

Pleasant but not quite to...

Pros: Good staff - helpful and friendly. Good room size and clean. Good coffee & tea facilities. Good size car park and near to the centre of Shifnal. Fairly quiet location.

Cons: Breakfast food ran out and we had to wait for replenishment on both days we were there - seemed to be lacking staff in the morning but the food was quite good. Decor tired - needs a refurbishment but it looked like the group holding company are slowly working on the building. Once done and if to a good standard throughout, it will be a nice hotel but it does need some money spending on it. It's also a large building with a confusing layout - some better signage needed for the bar and restaurant. Shower temperature varied greatly from cold to very hot - shower thermostat issue???

Lovely hotel, great staff, but...

Pros: The staff were very pleasant, the room clean and very quiet. Easy to find and ideal for a two night stay.

Cons: The hotel was having building work done which spoilt the look of the accommodation, however the hotel is desperately in need of upgrading. The towel rail which was the only form of heating in the bathroom, was not working as the control was bound up with duck tape, also in need of new mattress.

Pros: Check in was very quick and informative hotel is actually very nice looking

Cons: Breakfast was a disaster, inattentive staff or actually a lack of staff, no one checking how much breakfast items we're left and replenished before actually run out ,was never any plates,then five arrive.,more staff needed especially as there had been a wedding on the two days we stayed some having to eat breakfast out of a bowl.

Pros: The hotel is beautiful in the old parts that are still showing its original character. In my opinion, modernization does not necessarily mean getting rid of that old character

Cons: Wasn't overly impressed with the cleanliness, while moving the sofa in the bridal suite for a shoot I found food underneath.

Pros: Beds were very comfortable. Facilities in room were good with plenty of mlk cartons for tea and coffee.

Cons: Not one member of staff could raise a smile!!! Bar staff seemed very stressed and too busy to pass the time of day. The toilet in room 72 didn't flush properly and the cold tap in sink didn't turn off fully, so water just flowed. Breakfast was terrible. Spoken to very rudely by staff. No cutlery available and had to wait for milk to be replenished. Everything seemed too much bother. I understand the hotel is having a refurb but that's no excuse for poor customer service.

Park House 3 night stay.

Pros: When we got the right room it was adequate. Access was good as my wife has trouble walking and we had dogs. Ground floor and near the car park. Very roomy and plenty of seating, bed was comfortable, with ensuite bathroom. Clean and tidy.

Cons: When we arrived, our room had been given away, and we ended up on the 3rd floor, my wife has trouble walking, and we had dogs. 3 flights of stairs and no lift. Room was pokey, paint peeling off the wall and old, tired furniture. I complained, and we were moved the next day.

Pros: Excellent staff, so helpful and very courteous, nothing was too much trouble. Great period building with all modern facilities. Great value.

Cons: There was nothing to dislike, although major refurbishment was being made it did not impact on our stay.
