Pros: The hotel itself was excellent! The staff were exceptional- both at reception and at the restaurant.

Cons: The hotel is located in the centre of the old town which can be a little daunting as the surrounds outside the hotel grounds were not clean.

Cons: At check out requested toput all the rooms under my name and was told couldnt do so for 1 room when I reserved I reserved under my name just notice my name doesnt appear on any of the receipts , and I needed it for a claim!! Person Was not to helpful to assist..

Fabulous historical building close to major landmarks

Pros: Fabulous old historical building walking distance to major sites. Roberta on front desk is superb along with Verizon the doorman

Cons: Reception check in man was surly and not welcoming at all. Room overlooked entertainment area which hosted v noisy music party until midnight and then at 2.30am making noise tidying up. Bar staff more interested in party guests than hotel guests. Restaurant not what is expected of a McGallery hotel - no ambience, felt grubby and not a special evening at all. Pillows had no structure or support to them.

Pros: The spa facility was nice, it was an extra cost but worth paying for the exclusivity. The room was nice and we were upgraded for our honeymoon.

Cons: This was definitely not 4 star! We stayed for one night (2 days) before flying home after our honeymoon and the staff were poor! The hotel had a function on each day which they clearly could not deal with alongside normal bar/restaurant/hotel operation. We wanted to sit in the bar with cocktails before departing and we sat for maybe 20mins before anyone acknowledged us, though the bar staff did see us come in. We eventually went to the bar ourselves to order despite other tables having table service. The staff were very rude! The hotel wasnt easy to navigate round, we asked three different staff members where the restaurant was, to be informed down there on the left. It wasnt down there on the left. Finally finding the restaurant, frustrated, we werent greeted at all. We stood in the middle of the restaurant waiting for someone to greet us, but instead we felt embarrassed for waiting so long we turned around and walked out. We asked Gianluca at the reception for the spa availability for the next day, we were told the earliest time was around 6pm. We would have left for our flight home by then. He wasnt overly helpful or welcoming at check-in so we decided to ask again the following morning to be told there were lots of available slots! Both Roberta and Azzura were very helpful and welcoming so Im not sure why Gianluca told us incorrect information! The location was convenient; local to both train station and airport however, do not venture out at night. The neighbourhood felt very unsafe! Sue to this and the poor service in the restaurant we ended up getting a take out from a local takeaway and taking it to our room. I was surprised to be treated this way after seeing all the other reviews. Im not sure if it was because we were English or anything else but we were disappointed at the end of our honeymoon!

A great hotel with a great team.

Pros: Hotel were very accommodating and helpful, one of our party wasn't feeling too great and let us have a late checkout as we had a late flight. The front of house team were always friendly and helpful. Also great AC given it was nearly 40C outside.

Cons: Nothing to say, all expectations were exceeded.
