Staff didn't handle rude guests...

Pros: Good facilities, good value for the price.

Cons: I was staying in room 25, but on the first night the guests on room 24 next door decided to have a party all night long (starting at 00:30). I asked these guests to keep it quiet but they didn't listen. I asked reception multiple times to address this but that didn't solve anything. After around 4 hours I asked to get a different room. As far as I know, the noisy neighbors got away with it and continued their party for the rest of the night.

Pros: Awful rude staff! Don't stay here. Arrived to find we had no room and they wouldn't refund us.

Cons: Arrived late in the evening to be told there was no room available. Reception wanted to send us yo another hotel however wouldn't show us the hotel on a map or name it so we could look it up. We were told it was 20 minutes away and the hotel would pay for a taxi, a taxi arrived to take us to the other hotel, I explained to the taxi driver that the hotel were paying for the taxi and the taxi driver wasn't aware of this things got very heated with the taxi driver and hotel reception I asked the taxi driver where the hotel was and he said the hotel they were sending us to was outside of cologne! I told the hotel reception I was not happy to stay outside of Cologne and that we had paid for a room 3 months ago and if they weren't going to give us a refund immediately they needed to find us somewhere to stay. The receptionist then told me I was ruining his Saturday night!! Bare in mind we had arrived at a hotel for a city break to be told we have no room for you and will not give you a refund. We were then offered single rooms for myself and my partner and told they were next to each other. At this point it was 9 o'clock at night and we thought we'd have no chance of finding another hotel. We went to the single room to find that they were not next to each other. The rooms were tired old and in a poor condition. We did not feel happy or safe to stay at the premises so managed to get another hotel. My partner left his name number and email address at reception as we wanted to be refunded for the room. They didn't contact my partner. A week later I received a refund. Luckily our other hotel was wonderful so the 40th birthday trip wasn't completely ruined. The hotel has poor customer service and rude staff it's rooms are quite frankly grim..... do not book here.

Pros: Cool historical building. On the front of the hotel it says "AD 1709" but inside a plaque declares that it's been in business since 1264.

Cons: There was no coffee maker in the room. Had to haul luggage up a couple flights of stairs.

Pros: The breakfast was included, that was nice. The beds comfy.

Cons: There was no hot water, no heating, the staff was rude, the reception smelled like cigarettes, they told us we were going to pay a different price than what we paid at reception, on booking.com it was supposed to be 75 and we paid 89 for ambiguous reasons. It’s next to two sex shops which gives a certain vibe to the hotel… if it was much cheaper I would go along with it but considering all of the above I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Cons: Well the bedroom was clean but if you looked closely you could see it wasn’t that clean! Under the bed was so full of dust and spider webs and bits of food that had completely dried up! It definitely had not be hoover in many months!! Under the desk you could see clearly there was a huge drip strain of someone that had spill their drinks down the wall! No coffee/tea facility not even a hot drink machine in the reception area which was very disappointing as this is something that I consider important for hotel guest to have, there was not even one in the room to make tea/coffee!!

Good price and location within...

Pros: Good location especially for Christmas market. Staff friendly and breakfast very good. Food was sufficient and always well stock All credit to the waitress who worked very hard to accommodate everyone needs. Good price for comfortable beds and needs.

Cons: The lighting in the room was not very good as only 1 light worked in the inner room. Beds was all single which has its good point (kids can sleep separately) but then the adult slept separately. Very limited furniture in the room which does not make it very homely. Showers let water out if curtains not tucked in. Bath not located the best as someone tall could hit their head.

Cons: Turning up to be told there was no room available even though we had booking confirmed. Tried to send us to a different hotel, which was located way out of center. We said no, not willing to do that, then room became available.
