Fantastic location overlooking Bordeaux

Pros: Amazing view from bedroom. Restaurant is beautifully located too. Super easy 20 min drive to the airport.

Cons: Disappointing not to be able to eat in the restaurant as it was full.

Cons: there was no shower which could have been easily solved with a clip and what we would expect for a 4 star hotel!

I wouldnt come there again

Pros: The property has a good view even though it is not on the old Bordeaux. The outdoor pool is quite big and helpful in hot times. The gastronomic restaurant is good for those who are eager to pay for the experience. but the guests should be ready for the highest level of the cuisine sophistication and brave combinations.

Cons: one would expect more charm and quality from Relais et Chteau hotel. The design is quite industrial and straight forward. Concrete floors, some doors look like warehouse doors. The room equipment and decoration old. The ceiling is so low that my wife could touch it. Windows not clean. The breakfast basic, very few options available even to order. on the way to the rooms you have to pass through the kitchen area where the waiters run with trays at meal times.

Cons: The modern accommodation blocks are a ghastly rusting, industrial blot on a beautiful setting. The design and layout of our bedroom was bizarre although possibly very trendy 30 years ago. Felt like sleeping in an airconditioned garage.

Superb, an architectural gem with an amazing outlook over Bordeaux and wonderful staff

Pros: The staff were exceptional, the front desk had a lady from Canada and one from Bulgaria who were very friendly, welcoming and helpful The room was very quirky and unusual due to its shape but fun and functioned well. The view was outstanding. The restaurant was outstanding for a full evening meal, very high standard and superb food and service BUT see below ...

Cons: BUT the alternative to the restaurant was a snack in the bar which had a poor menu and very, very slow service and not good value.

Superb staff, grounds and food. Room very comfortable and with an amazing view.

Pros: Lovely room with an amazing view of the vineyard and surrounding countryside. We had two small dogs with us and the room was perfect for them. They had two beds, food and some treats. Nice grounds to walk around. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Cons: The only slight problem was the shape of the room. It was long and triangular. It was fine for us because it was a stopover on our way to Spain with our dogs. If we were there any longer I'd like a more traditionally shaped room.

Stunny view to Bordeaux, charming spirit of France

Pros: The view, the access to the garden with grapes, very big and beautiful, rooms are big. Very tasty dinner in the nearby restaurant.

Cons: Breakfast is a bit poor. Rooms start with a corridor which is a bit cold, the toilet is separately from the bath, its collated in that corridor and cold. The floor is cold too (in March). The hotel restaurant is fancy, not family style, but we were recommended a restaurant 2 mins walk from the hotel.

Pros: The hotel is still a very nice place that didn't loose anything of its modernism in the last 30 years that has been built.

Cons: We were terribly disappointed by the room. Since it was my third stay (first time 15 years ago an second time 5 years ago) this room didn't meet at all my expectations. As you can see on my pictures, the bed was right on the floor, not elevated, the view was by far not as nice as from other rooms, most of the windows didn't even let you look through as they had a blurry glass. The Tv used to be B&O before, now simple Korean brands show that the original idea of the outstanding has been lost in order to have more profit. The pool was freezing, the terrasse around the pool in bad shape. The staff used to be very warm and welcoming, this time it was ok but nothing more. I made an extra detour to stay once again in this hotel as I had a very good memory of before, but I wouldn't go back anymore. The price for this room was simply not at all on the level of what was provided.
