lovely location but a rather mediocre room for the money

Cons: the hotel room was tired with peeling paint in places, the shower room a bit grubby, the bed not very comfortable. the lights on the stairs to the room didnt work so that we were trying to climb up the stairs in the dark. for the money, it would have been nice to have a bath or a kettle etc

Pros: Magical property on the river bank. Stunning old property, Short walk into quaint village with a few bars / restaurants

Cons: All perfect for us. No lift so bear in mind if mobility is an issue.

It was the best stay of our three week trip. A truly exceptional place to stay and hope to revisit again soon.

Pros: This is a fabulous ancient property with really large and comfortable rooms. Its situation overlooking the Loire is magnificent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent. I believe the restaurant in the same building is independent of the hotel, but was also truly excellent with very good food and wine and extremely efficiently organised.

Lovely hotel, beautiful location, 30 minutes outside of Orleans.

Pros: Very charming, old and interesting hotel in a beautiful location on the river. Great breakfast. Friendly staff.

Cons: Nothing- everything was very nice. However, guests should understand there is not much close by when it comes to restaurants and shops. Orleans is a 30 minute drive.

Our expectations were met, comfortable room, good breakfast facilities and very pleasant surrounding

Cons: on arrival the garden was very unkempt but during our stay it was tidied up and this made the building and its surroundings much more arttractive

Pleasant stay in beautiful old house

Pros: Beautiful setting by river in historic building with lovely gardens. Staff were very helpful & breakfast was excellent.

Cons: Facilities were nothing special - no air conditioning or fan with outside temperatures around 35c. En suite had a bath, but shower did not work.

The hotel is in a very good position but could do with a bit of TLC especially at the rear garden.

Pros: The room had a wonderful view over the river, and was spacious, unfortunately the window is small . The shower room was large with a walk-in shower, and good size washbasin. Again unfortunately we were there during a top 30's heatwave so the room was very hot, but the hotel supplied a fan, which was much appreciated. The hotel included in there popular facilities a restaurant, which didn't actually belong to the hotel, even though it is on the premises. It was my birthday and I was looking forward to a nice meal. The menu was minimal which is okay if there has been thought and effort put into the courses, but it was pretty plain. Plus it was not cheap, I get a lot better at home. We had not booked breakfast, expecting a good feed the night before. I would stay again, as the hotel is in a very pleasant area,

Pros: It is a beautiful location and a nice old building.

Cons: The building needs some love and care, it is falling apart. On top of that the flies from the river are a nuisance so the dilemma is to open the window to get some cool air with flies or to keep the windows closed and endure the damp heat.

A great spot for a short stay

Pros: A really special place along the river. The terrace is remarkable and the restaurant serves great food.

Pros: Original and characterful place. Exceptional breakfast: real food, excellent quality, locally sourced. Lovely terrace to eat breakfast overlooking the Loire. BEAUTIFUL location on the bank of the Loire. Excellent service. Beautiful building. Our favourite accommodation of our whole holiday.

Disappointing

Cons: The room was well situated with a view over the river but the facilities were very basic and disappointing following our previous visit some 10 years ago. The standard provided would not encourage a future visit.
