About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    Convenient to Omaha Zoo. Clean,...

    Pros: Convenient location. Room was clean and recently updated. No issues checking in or out. Location was close to the Omaha Zoo - our destination. The hotel is about 8 miles from downtown.
    Cons: Most of the fitness equipment did not work properly. I pick hotels based on whether there is a fitness center. This one was definitely sub-standard. One of the tread mills didn't work. And weight machine needed calibration. My only option was the elliptical - it worked but was an older model.

    Pros: Location
    Cons: I called to verify their pet policy before I booked the room and was never told about the pet fee until checking in at the last minute. People running up and down the halls until midnight. Caused my dog to bark and the front desk immediately called my room complaining that he barked one time! I slept on the floor because it was more comfortable than the hard as a rock bed. We didn't have a tub, it was a walk in handicap shower. Didn't request that! Uncomfortable and over priced!!

    Ok..

    Pros: Good location near the interstate. Decent value.
    Cons: A bit rundown. Hot tub controller didn't work, so no air bubbles. The whole place was a bit worse, from what I've come to expect, out of La Quinta
