Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

Cons: There was a group of 15 young adults that were screaming yelling and cussing till 230 in the morning. We have young kids that were up all night because of this.

Cons: The beds are hard, so we didn’t get much sleep. The walls are paper thin, we could hear the next room talking all night long. The shower was very difficult to use, unless your 4 foot you can barely use it. No thermostat in the room to control the temperature

Pros: Honestly I’m not sure there was much to like. I know that is unfortunate to say but I can explain in the next question.

Cons: There was quite a few things that I did not like. Firstly the welcome into the hotel was not great. When walking through the building it was very filthy. Very much so crumbs, dirt, trash in elevators and floors. Welcomes myself to my room and everything was stained and dirty. I had multiple pee stains on my bed as well as black spots. Pillow cases did not look clean, dust everywhere. The bathroom was dirty, towels left with stains and smelled, did not use them, used my own. Expecting from a hotel to have a decent toiletries, there was not. Carpet in my room was dirty, unfortunately I can go on but I will stop there. I will make sure I make my observations very clear when looking at La Quinta hotels because this was a very much “dirty” felt stay.

Would stay again

Pros: It seemed clean to us, though it needed some updating/upkeep. Good beds, very cheerful and accommodating staff.

Cons: Just that it was a little dated and needed some attention.

Very nice hotel which was...

Pros: The facility was very clean from the lobby to the room.

Cons: There was no duvet cover only 2 thin linen and it was really cold,had to request a blanket which I was given a throw blanket which was not as warm.

Wouldn't recommend

Pros: The location was nice. Not far from the interstate and several stores restaurants close by.

Cons: Staff was rude. Pool and pool room were cold. Halls were freshly painted so there was a lingering of paint fumes. Killed a cockroach in the room. Breakfast area wasn't maintained and extremely poor quality.
