Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

Nice hotel, great location.

Pros: Everything was fine.

Cons: The front desk guy named Muhammed was pretty rude to us when we asked can we hang in the lobby with our family that were also staying in the hotel. We all couldn't fit in one hotel room. I also told him we wouldn't be loud because it was after hours. He acted like he didn't want us to hang out there when there was other people sitting in there too. Finally he said we could. But only for an hour. Like what we paid to stay here. We actually hung out there for 2hrs and had a great time. But I really think Muhammed needs Customer service training because he shouldn't make us feel uncomfortable when we are paid customers.

Pros: Nothing special.

Cons: Despite a request we were given a room directly opposite elevator doors. Breakfast could be better monitored. Easy chair was a straight back, no arms dining room chair with no reading light affixed to the outlet. Cost of products at the snack area was absurd.
