About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    Disappointing

    I expected better, would not...

    Pros: The beds were very comfortable and the staff was nice and accommodating.
    Cons: Nobody told us they didn’t take cash and all we brought was cash so we had to go out and find a bank and once we finally got into our room the AC didn’t work and we had to move to another room. the rooms were clean but they smelled funny. and the breakfast could have been better, the eggs were disgusting. And we couldn’t even bring our own food because there wasn’t a microwave or refrigerator in our room. had we known that we wouldn’t have booked. and we had to pay a $75 deposit which we didn’t know about til after we got there.

    Maintenance and updates needed

    Pros: The door to enter at handicapped parking was broken could not get in. Attendant said yes it is broken . The coffee pot in my room was unusable the plastic coffee grinds holder was too small to slide into maker. This same thing happened at another Laquita I stayed at on 15/501. The shower temperature maker was dislodged couldn’t distinguish cold and hot. Easily can be burnt . Breakfast was taken away at quarter to nine o’clock early should be nine o’clock on Friday. Carpet in hallway ruffled in spots I stayed three nights room never refreshed with towels and coffee fixings.

    Pros: The room was clean, the location was convenient, the hotel was quiet.
    Cons: There was only one trash can in the room, in the bathroom. Breakfast selection was limited. There is not much near the hotel. You have to drive about 0.25 to 1 mile to get to restaurants, shopping, etc. The lobby market had very few items.

    Cons: Hotel was not clean. There was cocroach in our room. The room carpet was stained and had a very bad stink, window was broken and worst their fire alarm started blasting in the middle of the night and we had to leave the facility because it was a blackout as well. After that there was no water till morning so we left without even brushing our teeth or shower. Washroom wasnt clean either. When we contact the front desk lady, she said she cant do anything about it. Worst experience ever

    I hated it

    Pros: I liked nothing.
    Cons: From the time I pulled up to the property I was disappointed. It looks like a creepy mansion in the trees. Upon entering I was greeted by a woman who seemed very unwelcoming. I was then told that none of the cards i usually use at any other property were not accepted here. Might I mention, the furnishings in the lobby was dirty. The carpet looked like a child installed it because it had wrinkles in it that at one point I tripped over. The carpet in the room had the same. The bed felt like it came from the dollar store. I got no sleep because I was so uncomfortable.. oh don’t let me forget to mention, I paid for a room with disability access. Not only did I not get that accommodation I was given a room on the second floor at the end of what seemed like the longest hallway ever. I truly wish I had stayed somewhere else.
