About Knights Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Full-limited service hotel chain Knights Inn is a recently acquired property of Red Lion Hotels Corp (RLH Corp), from Wyndham Worldwide. The hotel chain based in Denver, Colorado with 350 budget hotels under its management and 47 other hotels in the pipeline across North America was sold for $27 million in late 2018.

Knights Inn opened its first location in Columbus, Ohio in 1974 with its architecture inspired by the medieval period. It highlighted Tudor architecture and used extensive landscaping. The hotel chain was first developed by prefabricated building manufacturer Cardinal Industries, Inc. It's no surprise that the first buildings were all prefabricated and featuring only one story.

Knights Inn was performing well in the industry until it filed bankruptcy just a year after it introduced a no-frills brand called Arborgate Inn. The new brand features more modern architecture but fewer amenities which didn't appeal much to the crowd as much as its original architecture.

The following years saw different management changes transpiring as the hotel chain was sold from one company to another since 1991. The latest was the acquisition of Knights Inn by RLH Corp which is expected to boost its franchise units by more than 30%. Unfortunately, the chain no longer adopts its architecture standards under many influences.

Pros: Nothing! Absolutely nothing!
Cons: Everything!!!! It started from booking when I called the location. The lady who answered my call when I said I will book on line, replied “Ok go I book on line”. When I called again to double checked if my booking went through she laughed and said “ You booked on line, it would have been the same amount”. I asked “what is so funny about it and why are you laughing?” She just replied “nevermind!”. I called again because my Air Canada flight was delayed x2 and the same lady who answered me said “We closed at midnight, just ring the bell”. When I arrived the location at 2am, I rang the bell at the closed office. No one was answering so I checked if the door was open and I knocked. There was an old man opened the window and so mad at me and said with pointing fingers, “ why you are opening and shaking the door, ringing the bell is good enough. I said no one was answering and I just want to make sure someone will open on me, at this hour”. Then he pointed his fingers on me and saying that they closed at midnight and blah blah blah. I said you don’t need to point fingers at me. Then he started to stop pointing and yelling at me. I only stayed there from 3 am to 5:30 am. I have to stop by there as I still have to drive 4 hours in a rural highway. I didn’t get breakfast if they do serve it. No water. No tv. I just stretched and rested my body due to my flight x4 delays. Location is noisy with police sirens and car mufflers sounds. In that short span of stay , I heard police siren x4. So totally no sleep. I will rather pay more and get better service than receiving that inhumane treatment.

Disgraceful way to run a...

Pros: The man was obnoxious, rude, unhelpful and abusive. I have never had anyone yell at me before though I am a paying guest. To simply help supply correct wifi passcode was a problem for him and all I got was abuse. I won't encourage anyone to stay here, if one is concerned with dignity. Unfortunately, it looks like he is the operator of the business who is very unkind to his paying customers. This business shouldn't be with Booking.com site.
Cons: I paid for service, but wifi won't connect. All I needed was for him to give me correct passcode but I got abused and yelling instead, though I was still being respectful to him.

Pros: horrible!
Cons: customer service very poor, cleanliness very poor! they should not operate the business they don’t know what is hospitality. The lady in reception don’t know what she’s doing and need to undergo customers service training. I found out the rooms is not cleaned, not vacuum, lots of dust and the sheets has stains and hairs. I called the attention of the lady in reception, she said she don’t have a time to clean! lol! what we observed they are always having and argument to guest because they have lots of complaints.they should close this business because they don’t know what they are doing.

Bad experience, not recommendable.

Pros: Cheaper than the average
Cons: Extremely dirty and poorly maintained accommodation. The person in charge of the reception is a rude man and he treats you with no respect by shouting. They gave me a room in which the toilet cistern didn't work and they left me a bucket with water to flush the water. The woman, on the other hand, is a very kind person. She would not repeat and I do not recommend it to anyone. A bad experience.
