Cons: One of the lifts not working, remaining one slow and erratic. Room not ready at check in time, eventually I was sent to a room which I subsequently realised was the wrong room type- I asked to be changed to the room type I had booked and this was done with good grace. Important note for those booking this hotel via booking.com- ‘superior room’ does not mean a larger or better room than ‘standard room’- it appears to mean only that you get a couple of vouchers which make using the catering facilities 10% cheaper. Actually it appears to mean also a ‘package’ of water and biscuits in your ‘superior room’ which did not in fact materialise in mine- either in the room I was initially given or in the ‘superior room’ I was changed to. It’s a very well located and clean hotel but the facilities are as one might expect in a budget hotel. Fine for one or two nights stay but low on frills and I certainly found a certain degree of the haphazard at the reception desk. What saved my stay was actually the hotel restaurant where I figured I may as well use my discount! Gabriel the head waiter was a friendly and helpful staff member as was his junior. The food was very substantial and quite delicious. I had known this hotel as the old Jury’s and I thought the new branding Leonardo might mean an improved offer. I’m not sure that it does but it is quite adequate for a short stay.
