Met my expectations. Family run hotel directly on the beach

Pros: Breakfast was good, however service was a little slow. Location on the beach was great. Bocana resturant nearby was great. Convenient to Las Americas Airport

Cons: Room are very dated. Loud music from nearby restaurants very loud until after 10pm

Good place to stay directly on the beach

An older property that needs a bit of fixing up, but the staff are friendly and the location is central.

Pros: Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Hotel was right in the beach, just a short walk to both the water as well as restaurants. Breakfast was eggs, bread, juice, coffee, and a fresh fruit - simple but fresh and nicely presented.

Cons: The ocean view was out the sliding door of my ground floor room, though the perimeter fence, through quite a few trees. Yes, I could see a tiny bit of water, but saying it was an ocean view was a stretch - would not pay extra for that in future. Not quiet: the toilet ran all night, and I could hear the people upstairs, each time they opened a door, dropped something or moved something.

Pros: Not bad to stay 3-4 nights, I stayed 8 nights and it was a little bit too much! Overall, location is good, right on the beach.

Wrong description of the room

Pros: The room was clean and the view from the balcony was great.

Cons: The description of the room on booking was false! It was clearly stated that the luxury suite was two rooms, but we was given just an ordinary rather small dubbel room and no hairdryer, no minifridge. According to the staff there exists no suites with an extra room. The breakfast serving started much later than promised and was a plate with limited choices (eggs).

Pros: Breakfast was decent - only eggs, fruit, bread, coffee, juice - no pancakes or cereal (my son can't eat eggs - but he ate bread and fruit). Service at breakfast was slow (especially on the day we were checking out and had to catch our flight). During check out - could not find anybody at the front desk - so leave some extra time especially if you are in a hurry to get to your flight. Location is great - right on the beautiful beach. But there is crime in the neighborhood - so have to be very watchful. Saw somebody get robbed in front of hotel. Also there were people at the back gate of hotel that would not let us go to the nearby restaurant, and were trying to sell their "dinner" services. That was very annoying and we ended up going around the hotel to the front of the restaurant (by the way, definitely recommend that restaurant for dinner/supper). Driving to the hotel we were stopped several times telling us we had to park elsewhere - but that's typical for DR - so just put on mean face and keep driving (everybody tries to make money of you). Parking at hotel is tight - but they will help you. Triple room was small, shower really tiny and old. Saw roaches on the property and in the room. We are not super picky, just don't expect same quality as resorts in Punta Cana or Puerto Plata. This hotel was very convenient to the airport and Three Eyes National Park and the beach.

Cons: slow service and a smile would be nice more choices at breakfast would be nice (no menu card, but keep asking for things and they might actually have that) security wasn't great - especially at the back gate

Plenty of room for improvement

Pros: This place is more of a hostel than a hotel, but it is okay for short-term stays, Attentive and friendly staff, clean rooms, decent breakfast, good location.

Cons: It's a little run down and could use some repairs, painting, remodeling, refurbishings: the shower faucet is loose and does not work well, the sink faucet is rusty and please, for privacy, put a curtain in the window that overlooks the parking lot of a very busy restaurant. Our room offered "balcony and view". Maybe because we booked a little late they gave us one on the third floor of a building without an elevator, we had to take suitcases up and down the stairs. The big disappointment was the view of a parking lot in the back. No amazing beach sunsets from our private balcony. The area's offering is growing and there are better options at competitive prices. I hope they can evolve, innovate, maybe maximize their superb location, a better management of social networks and sales channels. And I would love to see a pool and some hammocks

Perfect location and great value

Pros: The perfect location right by the beach, wonderful staff and great value.

Cons: We had an issue with flushing the toilet and the shower didnt have hot water.

Pros: It was a really nice stay at the hotel Zapata. Really nice staff is working there who helped us in any case.

Comfortable, no frills, close to beach and Ave Duarte and restaurants

Pros: Very close to the beach basic and dated rooms but comfortable stayed in highest level room, smaller rooms looked very basic.

Cons: Accommodations are very dated and basic but this is to be expected in this area. Flooding on last days of trip on first level of hotel. Unusual rains Im sure this doesnt happen often streets were flooded everywhere or really hotels fault. They did the best they could to contain it given limited resources. I asked for a refund for my last day because my brother needed to stay in my room on last night because his room had leaks from ceiling. They said a manager would call back which never happened. Overall still a decent experience given Mother Nature and the circumstances just would have appreciated something for the inconvenience.

Pros: Food was ok nothing great, had 2 meals breakfast was good but very little,and dinner was over cooked fish and chicken.

Cons: Room had no remote for tv , after cleaning room put not bathroom tissue, they do not provide wash cloths only a towel,location was good far as beach area,
