Good hotel with strange reception approach.

Pros: Hotel located 15 mins walk from city center, just by the sea. Rooms are spacious and well equiped and choice of breakfast very generous.

Cons: There is no reception at the hotel and all the communication informs you about additional fees for asking staff. You can perfectly live without such additional services, but creates odd feeling.

Pros: The staff was very nice. We met even a Polish waitress - Kasia and she could explain us everything in Polish:) We reccomend this hotel. We got a room with balcony for two where was the kitchen with all the things needed to prepare a lunch or dinner.

Cons: Military style control over check-in (30 fee applies if done after 1pm), and rules regarding inventory of room items.. There was a 50 security deposit that was conveniently not mentioned in the confirmation from Booking or the hotel. Never been asked this before! The rules were posted everywhere in the rooms, putting the fear in God into you in case you broke an (IKEA) glass! This spoilt an otherwise perfect stay, as Maddelena was a stunning island and the hotel was of a high standard.. Not situated in the port (old town) it's a 20min walk but worth it!

Decent hotel in La Maddalena

Pros: Nice quiet room with a kitchenette, good breakfast.

Cons: A little out of town, need a car to get to downtown. Wi-Fi not good in the room.

Pros: It was clean, comfortable, the breakfast was great and the staff are brilliant. Our room was new so clean and tidy during our stay. There is free parking just a two mins walk from the hotel. The hotel is approximately a 20 min walk from the main area, but this is split between walking along the sea and the town. A perfect length stroll after dinner in town. You can a ski hire beach towels and umbrellas for the beach.

Pros: Location was good, parking available for 5 a day, breakfast was really good, and the staff at breakfast were very friendly. The room was very clean. The bed was confortable with crisp white sheets which I loved.

Cons: The shower is very small, they dont have an iron and front desk couldnt tell me where to get one. They charge 5 for each beach towel

Pros: Staff were very helpful and welcoming. They helped us to organise boat hire and even returned lost sunglasses after we had left them on the boat. Breakfast was good and rooms very clean,

Cons: We have 2 teenage boys. One of the single beds was uncomfortable. Probably OK for younger guests. We had an issue accessing Garage as we didn't have the code for the barrier so only used our prepaid parking spot for one of the three nights we paid for it. With hindsight, we could have dispensed with the extra expense of the parking spot.

Pros: Wow, everything was perfect. Valeria and Doriana were great from the moment of booking. The full trip with Enzo and Mateo was an amazing experience, and half day trip with Julio was also an amazing experience. We rent a scooter, a dinghy and if you know what you are doing I advise renting a dinghy as if you damage it then you will have to pay quite a lot, but luckily we were okay as my husband is experienced, but I enjoyed more doing the tours with Enzo and Julio in my opinion. Maybe book the tours in advance because we booked when we got there and then it was too late to book second tours as we love it so much. Well the breakfast, what to say OMG, it was SOOO good, a variety of ham and cheeses everyday, the fresh bread and croissants were to die for, and the cakes, and the cooked bits as well everyday was different, the girls and boy from the breakfast were great and also all the cleaners, it was the perfect holiday with the perfect hosts, you should have more than 3 stars, thank you so much, we will be back ;) The place was spotless clean, OMG everyday ... you could smell the freshness of the cleaning ...

Cons: We were very disappointed by the staff. On the check out day our son was very sick and we asked the reception to let us stay just a little bit more after the check out hour. Their first answer was that we would have to pay for the late check-out. Really? When some of your guests are feeling sick the first thing to say is: "OK. But there's an extra charge?" Somehow we had the feeling that it was all about the money. From the beginning there was an issue with them and booking.com where we were shown the price for 2 adults +1 kid, we made the booking like this, but found out at the front desk that we have to pay extra for our kid because the room was for three but the price for two. It was actually the first thing we were told. Then their business way with working hours at the front desk until 13.00. After these hours there is an extra charge of about 30 euro for all their assistance. And at the end of our stay the situation explained above. Hospitality business should mean first of all hospitality and then money, money, money. And this applies both to them and booking.com who apparently have an exploit in their booking system (the 2+1 issue)
