Pros: Location at the beach, little pool to refresh and beach chairs and beds at the beach free of charge for hotel guests.

Cons: Barhroom tiny, furniture worn out. Be careful. There is a racoon family living and coming every evening looking for food. Don't leave anything outside on the terrasse or otherwise it will be gone. We lost one hat and the otherone we found on the roof. If you want to enjoy the evening on the terrasse then you'll have company by the racoon which is not shy at all. For us so annoying that we left inside.

Pros: Cozy beach vibe. Pretty low key place for Tulum (which is nice!) . Quite Tulum Mayan site. Nice restaurant above the beach

Cons: Our room was near the kitchens so a bit noisy in the morning if you want to sleep late. Piped music in the eating areas was way too loud.

Pros: Amazing hotel. Lovely staff and such a lovely experience to be less than a minute walk to the beach. The beach beds are a real treat too - so comfy and luxurious.

Cons: The only thing is there isnt loads of restaurants/bars in the area and the ones that are there werent particularly busy when we were staying at the property - Feb. I would still 100% stay here again over the busier town.

Pros: The location is nice, beds are good and the breakfast is fine. Nice staff and very nice beds on the beach. Room was clean and spacious enough.

Cons: A very sweet smelling electrical diffuser but we took it out and no cover for the showerdrain. We used a plastic bag and a bottle.

Dream come true

Pros: Virtually everything. The property (and a few others) are situated in a cove. I was in room 1, which I think was the best possible choice. I was just a few feet above the sand and beach beds. The room itself was large and I loved the vintage beach aesthetic. The bed was very cozy and every morning before dawn I opened the drapes and as dawn would break, I had the most wonderful view from the bed of the ocean. I can sometimes be critical of properties choices of linens. Not here. They were soft and comfy. Everyday they made up the room and it was just so fresh.

Cons: Mind you this was like a fantasy, the beach, the room, the location, so I dont exactly think there was anything negative, except, Id love to have all of that for less than $300 per night.

A great location.

Pros: This hotel is located in the quieter area before you get to the party zone proper. The beach is excellent, lovely fine sand and a warm sea.

Cons: Its getting a little tired looking in places. There was insufficient shade available on the beach chairs, and the private area is quite cramped between to other hotels. The included breakfast was good enough but the coffee was very bitter.

Unhelpful staff who condone crime

Pros: It was nice to be right on the beach which felt smaller and more private than most beaches in the area. Our room was also cleaned well each morning.

Cons: I would not recommend staying here. We were robbed twice and no one batted an eyelid. Our car was parked in a space attached to the hotel that they operate - which we even had to pay $800 pesos for. We were told it would be safe and guarded, but it was broken into, our belongings were stolen, and the rental car was damaged. There were no cameras or security and the hotel accepted no responsibility. They wouldnt even refund us our parking fee for the trouble. And no, we didnt leave anything in the car on show - they smashed the lock on the enclosed boot / trunk. Another complaint: I pleaded with the front desk for help when the police were bribing us for 150 cash-in-hand or arrest because I hadnt been carrying my ID with me, and the hotel receptionist turned the other way. These are examples of two cases of criminal activity that the hotel staff seemingly condone. Punta Piedra Beach Posada is run by people who dislike the tourists and guests and do not want to help. I would strongly discourage anyone from staying here (or visiting Tulum at all, for that matter). It was the most uncaring service I have ever experienced, much like the rest of Tulum - hostile and unsafe, with an endorsement of crime.
