Just like many great innovations, Okura Hotels and Resorts all started from a dream. Back in the 1950s, Baron Kischiro Okura wanted to build a hotel that would ultimately represent the Japanese hospitality to tourists coming to Japan. In 1962, the first Hotel Okura was opened in Tokyo. Driven by its objective— to be the best hotel in the world— Okura Hotels and Resorts is guided by its Best ACS philosophy: Best Accommodation, Best Cuisine, and Best Service.
With over 50 years of experience, Okura Hotels and Resorts have mastered the refined Japanese hospitality and elegance while keeping up with the latest equipment and systems to create the experience of traditional Japan and Western functionality. Successfully blending the two, Okura Hotels and Resorts has become a premium and prestigious Japanese-owned hotel chain. It has expanded in different countries including Amsterdam, The Netherlands with His Royal Highness Prince Claus of the Netherlands officially opening it in 1972.
As it expands further, Okura Hotels and Resorts has partnered with many significant players in the tourism and travel sectors including airline companies. With every stay in an Okura Hotel, one becomes eligible for extra mileage with its partner airline. Plus, it is also known for its One Harmony loyalty program which guests can use at any establishment within the hotel chain.
