The mandatory use of stairs, insufficient toiletry and low value for money, led to the evaluation.

Pros: Small hotel in the greater railway station area (2 metro stops away from Termini), close to a metro station and to buses. The room size was o.k. The mattress was not the best but acceptable. Room had no boiler for water/tea, was equipped with a flat TV and a safe. Room cleaning was fair. The bathroom was spacious. Reception employees were adequate and friendly.

Cons: Old building with obvious ware. The reception (and the entrance to all rooms) is below the street level, therefore requiring the use of stairs (approx. 10 steps). This makes access impossible to people with mobility problems, and difficult for those suffering from mobility issues, feet injuries etc. From the level of the reception, hotel floors are accessible via an elevator. The hand towels were actually equivalent to kitchen towels, i.e. their material was a fabric with poor water absorption capacity, instead f a typical towel fabric. The bathroom towel was old. A very small soap and a tiny - envelope like portion of shampoo were provided (both insufficient in terms of quantity) Breakfast has boiled eggs, one variety of cheese and salami (in slices), bakery, coffee, tee, so it is of mostly basic level. The above are not justified by the cost of the room (> 170 E/night) for one person (the room was booked just one week before the journey so this might have played a role, while Rome is a popular place for turists).
