Very Good

Glad I booked this hotel!

Pros: Location is great for hiking or eating out, park the car right outside our room, loved the quirky interior of the pub/restaurant area. Couple of the staff were helpful and friendly. Hot tub was so nice on a cold evening.

Cons: Was too hot to sleep comfortably, little bit noisy after 11pm and breakfast was basic, but not bad.

Stiff mattress, slippery bathroom, but perfect location with really sweet, friendly staff. :)

Pros: The staff is lovely. The bar they have is really cozy and nice. The room was spacious and the price for a night was very reasonable. Its location in Mosfellsbr and right in front of a bus stop that goes to downtown Reykjavk is perfect, too.

Cons: The mattress of the bed was stiff and uncomfortable, but I did get used to it so I was able to sleep. I had difficulties opening the windows. Not sure if they're kept from being opened fully or if they just require more force than I was comfortable with putting on them, haha. The absolute worst part was the bathroom. The bathtub has a rust spot that made me think it was dirty, even though it wasn't. It was perfectly clean. But taking a shower there was kinda scary. The tub becomes super slippery, and I forgot to put a towel on the floor before stepping out, and the floor turned out to be just as slippery. I nearly fell both when stepping out of the shower, and then onto the floor.

Our stay at Hotel Laxnes was absolutely magical!

Pros: The location of the hotel was about 15-20 minutes drive outside of Reykjavik and right off the Golden Circle. Our room looked out onto snow covered mountains; It was absolutely beautiful! The room was large and comfortable. Everyone was so nice. Onsite parking. Our room had a balcony and we were able to see the aurora from it! Very quiet and relaxing

Cons: The only thing we didnt like was the non-slip mat for the shower. The moment we stepped on it the mat would slide around. It was much safer without it

A great hotel, great staff and made a 30th birthday that extra special.

Pros: Id definitely recommend or come back here myself. The lady at reception (didnt catch her name) was lovely, she even checked us in 2 hours early free of charge and gave us a complimentary 30 minutes hot tub (i used this on my birthday which was lovely!) the hotel is clean and rooms are spacious with a brilliant mountain view. We had supermarket 30 seconds down the road as well as some fast food places which was convenient as we had lots of things booked. The staff we were friendly and the tours that Hotel Laxnes have on their website are great. We did northern lights and golden circle through their website and it was brilliant.

Cons: I have no faults with the hotel, highly recommend

Pros: Nearby Reykjavik, but real close to the beginning of the golden ring. Not so much light, so I think Auroras could be easily seen (though I didnt have the chance) Good breakfast included. Supermarket and food options nearby, Comfy beds

Pros: This is an extremely good value for money hotel , away from the city but within easy reach and excellent transport links. Its basic but clean and comfortable with lovely views overlooking the mountains. Its in an amazing location for viewing the northern lights. The staff are super friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay again

Bad across the board - avoid

Pros: Absolutely nothing - no elevators, shabby design and decoration, dirty, and generally uncomfortable.

Cons: The price doesnt match the service in any way, I could get a hotel in Reykjavik proper for lesser price and better accommodation. Bad parking arrangements and check-in at a bar; no elevator, imagine taking a heavy suitcase through 2 flights of stairs. Dirty bathroom and no amenities. Thought I would catch an incurable disease from the bedding.

Pros: Very fast check in and friendly staff. Great size of room and everything you need for comfortable stay. Warm inside even ad there was snowstorm outside.

Cons: The duvet was a little thin and we had trouble knowing where to find check-in. But friendly staff and warm rooms made up for that.

I highly recommend it.

Pros: Breakfast was not included. The room was quiet, clean and warm. Don't be surprised. This hotel has a window on the ceiling that allows you to see the outside, and on the first day I arrived in Iceland, I witnessed the Aurora and took a video. I highly recommend it.

Cons: There is nothing lacking. I am satisfied.

Pros: Our room was clean, with a comfortable bed and the convenience of a small kitchenette and an electric kettle for tea and coffee, which was provided. A quaint pub was on the property and although they did not have a kitchen to provide dinner there were local options nearby and, they did offer and traditional Icelandic breakfast in the morning as well as offer a delicious lamb soup that we had for lunch while staying there. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. I highly recommend staying here if you're going to be in the area.
