Exceptional place in North Tenerife with the best views in the area

Pros: Everything was absolutely incredible. The location is superb - you can enjoy the views of the Teide and mountain range on one side and Puerto de la Cruz coast on the other. Each breakfast was a wonderful experience, you get a palette of choices, and again, you can begin the day while indulging delicious meals with the most beautiful view. The room / suite was extraordinary. The balcony is incredible, the double bed is King+ size, and it's the most convenient. The pools have the most superb views both, at day and nights. The surroundings are so peaceful and aesthetic, and you feel like in oasis. Parking is very convenient. Near by you have Comercial centre, Dino and Lidl. And the downtown of Puerto de la Cruz is just a short drive or a lovely walk away. My partner and I can't wait to be back here the next vacation.

Didn't enjoy the stay

Pros: Not much, maybe just the location and views from some areas. The in-room Jacuzzi was nice. The room was quite big, with a separate living room.

Cons: 1. No kettle, no welcome tea/coffee, no even a single bottle of water in the room. They have a coffee machine in the bar but it is ONLY available for all inclusive guests 2. The safe in our room was broken and unusable 3. The room had something that looked like a kitchen (with a sink, electric stove) but... There were absolutely no plates, cutlery, pans, etc! So it was totally useless too. 4. The hotel was very crowded, it's a large building with hundreds of rooms paired with relatively small surrounding territory, so the amount of people per square meter is really high. This leads to many problems. For example, it was hard to find a free parking lot after 9PM, we had to leave the car outside of the marked spots and the guy at reception said that it's a risk because "it is a public street and police can take your car " so he suggested to park downhill instead which is a 10 minute walk down the hill and back. Another problem was breakfast, it was hard to find a free table after 9AM, it felt like a bee nest, way too many people, noise and distractions. 5. My wife got food poisoning, we tend to think it happened in the hotel during breakfast. And the food wasn't the greatest in general. 6. Charging sockets in the bedroom were worn out so I had to do multiple attempts to charge my phone 7. "Teide view" room was more like a "parking lot view"

Everything was good, beside the food. At least for premium we had a few things in plus, that count.

Pros: The room and the facilities and everything on the premium side was good.

Cons: The food was not that good, as a 4 star hotel I was expecting at something else.

Cons: Locating room was difficult for first time visit. Pool table was uneven but staff didn't care when approached. Bed creaked all night to the point I didn't get 3 hours sleep. 6 am got woke up with strange banging noises ( possibly heating pipes) which went on for about an hour. Which meant I could not get to sleep. Once again staff seemed disinterested when I complained! Tiles in the bathroom could do with being regrouted due to discolouration!

Nice Hotel with nice views

Pros: Liked the staff, everyone was super friendly and nice and I believe they are doing a great job. Thanks for welcoming us.

Cons: The food quality was a bit poor for our expectations, we had dinner in the self service restaurant only once.

Cons: They didn't have extra blankets available, as it was cold at night. That's unbelievable, so big hotel and no extra blankets. We were asking 2x. Food ok. Very poor entertainment.

Great value, but not for everyone

Pros: Great spacious and comfortable "premium" rooms, extra attention to "premium" visitors. Better breakfast for "premium" suite visitors. Large double bed. Free tennis courts. Plenty of parking space. Well kept surroundings of the hotel. Great value!

Cons: Despite great value, this hotel is for those who can tolerate cheap wine, not so tasty food (we had a half board included) and really terrible coffee.. Coffee from automatic coffee machines was diluted with water. It was the worst coffee we had in any hotel visited before - that is definitely the shame of this Melia hotel. To be honest, there was a better coffee machine for "premium" visitors, this coffee was much better but still nothing special. And we were not allowed to make this premium coffee ourselfs - had to ask a waiter every time.. Furthermore, room service get annoyingly worse till the end of our stay, maids kept forgetting to add the essentials, or even clean up the room. Rooms a bit too old needs some attention, especially bathrooms. In the end, a tiny minus - it was not possible to do a late check out (even at 2 pm). Overall the rating is 9 only because of great value.

Our stay was relaxing and pleasant. The Italian restaurant offers good food and service.

Nice views and facilities

Pros: Room was very big and clean as well as the bed. The hotel is in the top of a hill so it has very nice view to the city. View to the mountain was also nice, when the clouds let us see the actual mountain, otherwise it was nothing special but still we had view. Pools were awesome as well as the gym and tennis facilities. We liked the fact that there are two pools available, the one being adult-only. Breakfast and dinner had many options to choose from.

Cons: We booked our stay with half board (breakfast and dinner included) but in the dinner drinks and soft-drinks were not included in our package and we had to pay extra. These were only for all inclusive customers.

Great views and friendly staff

Pros: Great hotel on the top of the hill with great staff. Perfect place when you travel by car (large parking) and want to escape a bit from the business of the city.
