    A beautiful stay in Casertavecchia! Read on ...

    Pros: First and foremost, the people at the hotel were absolutely amazing. Everyone - management, check in, restaurant, maintenance ... just wonderful. The hotel restaurant was superb. Breakfast was great. They make a beautiful orange cake in house and it is wonderful. The coffee? Numero uno. But, breakfast is just a primer. You want dinner here. White table cloths. Wonderful service. Affordable menu and wine. And the food? The flagship of the Italian fleet. When I got up from the table it was a standing ovation. As for location, it is about a 5 minute walk to the village of Casertavecchia. I saw the Captain's Tower from my window. I woke up to the sound of church bells and roosters. And when I stepped outside to look, a team of horses was getting exercised on the street followed by an enthusiastic pony that didn't want to get left behind. I wish you my stay here. Hotel Caserta Antica, grazie mille! Non vedo l'ora di ritornare! ~ Pino

    Pros: This was our fourth time visiting this hotel as we always use it when visiting family in the area . It is clean and quaint and walking into the old town for dinner is very picturesque. There are many restaurants to choose from . There is a supermarket at the bottom of the hill which sells mostly anything you need . Parking can be an issue but we were always able to find somewhere to park . There is also an overflow car park across the road .
    Cons: People have mentioned being charged to use the pool and we were advised this on check in . This has certainly not been in force on previous visits . However we didnt end up being charged which was good . The pool was very cold and an automatic pool cleaner runs constantly in the pool so you wouldnt want to swim anyway in case you get tangled up in the machine or hose ! Breakfast can get a little repetitive but is always beautifully presented . The hosts dont speak much English so that is where google translate comes in. Some rooms have team making facilities and some dont . For some inexplicable reason our maid would take our dirty cups away each day and wouldnt replace them with cleans ones . After two days of having to go ask for cups , we ended up hiding them till she after she cleaned !

    Good but probably wouldnt stay here again.

    Pros: Good value for the money. Nice clean room. Has restaurant on site since somewhat isolated location on hill above town.
    Cons: Breakfast. Pineapple starting to turn brown. Basil not fresh on caprese salad at dinner. Mozzarella tasted off. Bed a little hard.
