Not recommended at all

Pros: Just the location and bad were ok.

Cons: Let's start by saying that when we arrived at the hotel, there was a receptionist who was busy (she was nice, I talked to her after the check in), so we were approached by the manager who was really unfriendly and uninviting. All we wanted was to understand the parking issue, which is already complex in the city. The hotel does not have an elevator, and the ascent is not easy, very steep. There is no place to put soap for your hands. There is no place to put soap and shampoo in the shower. The towels weren't really towels. The walls are very thin and I could hear the other room. I heard everything they were doing in the bathroom (great sounds.. NOT), I heard the water and the plumbing. It was just awful, and I couldn't sleep. And we had one single room and one double. Very disappointing.

Italian vacation haven

Pros: Excellent staff!!! Elegant building with lots of Italian character. Marble floors and nice painted frescos. Breakfast area and patio were great. The afternoon desk clerk was awesome. She made great recommendations for dinner. We feel we have made a new friend.

Cons: Stairs were a little steep, but staff helped us with our bags. Also an elevator would destroy the character of the hotel.

Good base for visiting Florence

Pros: Good location, very close to all the main sights. The lady at reception (I think her name was Drita?) was extremely kind and helpful and recommended a fantastic restaurant nearby.

Cons: There were lots of mosquitos in the room (despite it being October!)

Good place to stay

Pros: Good location. Clean room. Breakfast is just what you see in the picture, no eggs, but when I asked for a second cappuccino I was given a smaller cup. Staff was really nice. Laura was very helpful and gave us a city map that made easy to visit the important sights. Good value for price paid.

Cons: You can improve breakfast with more options and be more generous with coffee.

Florence charm at its best...

Pros: Such a charming, sweet old-fashioned hotel with everything you need in a great location, and such good value for money! I could not get over the amazing staff - the most helpful, friendly, warm people I have come across at a hotel - every one without exception! They really went above and beyond and made my stay so special. My room and the hotel in general was absolutely spotlessly clean and very comfortable in a quiet, safe area, just 1.5 km (20 minute stroll) to the Uffizi gallery, and even closer to the Duomo. The location was perfect for me because it was just outside the chaos of the old city centre, but within such easy reach of all the main attractions. There is also a bus that stops just a few metres from the hotel, so getting there with public transport is a breeze. Lovely breakfast each morning (with the best cappuccino in the world!) overlooking the gorgeous, quaint courtyard which really set me for the day. I loved my time at Hotel Rita Major and would definitely stay here again if I ever get the chance to go back to Florence!

Cons: Everything was perfect! There was a glitch with communication beforehand but the hotel is aware of this and will sort it out.

Pros: Very Friendly Staff, Clean & Cozy room, Budget Friendly, Very nice breakfast with perfect coffee.

Cons: Feels like a grandma home so It may not be a good choice for people who like modern places

An overly-priced yet welcoming hotel

Pros: The welcoming attitude of the staff. The breakfast was very good as well. The wifi connection in the room was okay. Location was good as it was 20 minutes away on foot from Brunelleschi's Dome.

Cons: The room provided felt cold even though we had the AC on heating. Furthermore, the towels were not changed during our 3 night stay. Lastly, we felt that the price we paid was a bit too much considering the hotel.

Pros: The staff was friendly and the breakfast was great. It was also in a good location and easy to walk to many of the tourist sights in Florence.

Pros: The property overall is good, but the room allocated to my family (3 people) was not pleasant.

Cons: The room had a stronger sewage smell. The room's illumination is poor, even in the bathroom. The shower is bad in size and has no place to hold a soap. The shower head had a crack, and water splashed out of the shower forcing you to reduce the water pressure. the bathroom sink was clogged. The mattress is uncomfortable. Because the room in the street level, we have no privacy, too noise, lots of flies and mosquitoes entering the room as there was no protection net. No air conditioning and the fan was terrible.
