Great hotel- perfect for short...

Pros: Room met the needs perfectly of my family! Bathroom a bit dated but perfectly clean. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options for everyone.

Cons: Additional sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable! You would need transportation into Guildford

Convenient location for a visit...

Pros: Good location close to Surrey University and Cathedral. Indoor pool, jacuzzi, Turkish bath and sauna (with no extra charge). Quiet rooms and comfy beds. All rooms are on the ground floor. No stairs or lift. There always seems to be enough parking spaces, but I don't know how this would be during busy times (e.g. summer weekends).

Cons: The rooms and especially the bathrooms are dated and old.

Pros: We booked the family room and it was huge Very clean and staff for so friendly & helpful

Cons: It was extremely loud. There must have been a family staying above us and the children were running up and down for hours

Cons: On arrival our toilet was covered in urine The carpet as you come in the room the carpet was thread bare . One of the sliding shutters had come off its runners so couldn’t close it , loose tiles in the bathroom. We were just exhausted after our journey so didn’t have the energy to ask to swap rooms Just a bit of a letdown really . I think the rooms need some TLC looking very tired room 279

Cons: If you fancy a restless night spent wondering how many types of wildlife you’re sharing your bed with, this is the place for you. Want the thrill of guessing whether the holes in the carpets are plain old wear and tear or something more sinister, you’re in for a treat. And if your idea of relaxing is cosying up into bed to find clumps of hair from the previous inhabitant, look no further. The Holiday Inn Guildford starts off ok (you’ve got to spend £5 a day for parking and the machines don’t register your number plate correctly, but who doesn’t love the threat of a parking ticket looming over their heads, am I right) and the foyer is quite nice. But as you meander through the corridors, you are met with the stench of marijuana. Which is just as well - you’ll need to get high for what’s coming. The bathroom is full of mould - not the good type you get on cheese but the type that makes you wish we were back in the face mask days of 2020. The carpets are covered with questionable looking divots, desk chair has a stain that makes me want to get tested for STDs. I got into bed and was greeted with the delightful remnants of its previous tenant - their hair. Not enough to plait and make a wig out of, but enough that it’s evident the cleaner’s simply didn’t bother to change the bedsheets during turndown service. To be fair to the receptionist, she was kind and accommodating and offered to rectify it immediately. But when she arrived at our room carrying a heap of bedding, she asked “where shall I leave it?” plonked it on the bed, and left it there. So my partner and I had the delightful task of *changing our own bedding.* If you’ve ever changed bedsheets with a partner’s help, you’ll know my anguish.

Pros: food tasty and good value. Room quiet spacious and comfortable. Everything worked. Lots of facilities but I didnt use them. The location for the hospital and an early start couldnt have been better.

Pros: Perfect location for the University of Surrey. Gym, pool, sauna and whirlpool were great after a long day at work. Food is excellent and staff very friendly.

Cons: Room was cold but the heating worked eventually.
