Modern luxury in central spot

Pros: Fantastic attentive staff, both in the hotel and restaurant. Great location, superbly refurbished rooms make this one luxurious play to stay!

Perfect location and setting for your visit to Christchurch

Pros: We were excited to stay at the Cotswold, the location was perfect to explore the city by car or a good walk if you want to get your steps in for the day.

Cons: The setting was quaint and country looking, we were disappointed with our room, while it was clean, it was obvious it was in need of some repairs and upgrading but don't let this discourage anyone from staying at this hotel as we observed many rooms that were in great condition.

Good vibe but bad room

Pros: I loved the overall asthetic, and the dining space and the breakfast was great. The staff were also very nice.

Cons: Our room was VERY tired. It was more like a 2* motel room.

Pros: Although it was small there was a nice gym. The reception area was nice and modern with ability for a self check in which helped us avoid waiting in line.

Cons: Our room was very dated. It had a strange layout with old furniture. Location was not really walkable. After seeing the reception area maybe they are slowly renovating this property.

Pros: It was walkable into Christchurch. It had some shops, cafes and restaurants close by. Free parking. It was quiet at night.

Cons: Our executive apartment was very dark and we needed lights on in the day - felt oppressive and depressing. The whole mock Tudor design of the outside and the inside felt tacky. I almost felt ashamed walking off the street into it - but it wasnt alone as there were similar themed hotels/motels close by. However Christchurch council allowed such design is beyond me. The beds were uncomfortable my back still aches. We had breakfast included in the package, if it hadnt been included we would have gone elsewhere, it was ok, well cooked but uninspiring. It was also on the bus tours so there were lots of groups who took over the place where we had breakfast and it was hard to find a table and some of the food choices had gone - fruit especially.

Pros: Great location, not far from Hagley Park and the centre of town. Looked nice on the outside. Reception is open 24/7

Cons: The rooms were like something out of the 70s, very basic. The sink tap dripped. There was dishwashing liquid but no sponge or brush t clean anything with. The main light bulb in the bedroom was not working. I had to carry my suitcase up stairs. The fridge and microwave were ancient. The place smelled of mould.

Really comfortable stay at this hotel.

Pros: Lots of space in the lounge area and lovely crisp sheets and comfortable bed.

Pros: Excellent exceeded our expectations we will certainly be back We were given a free upgrade which was an absolute treat to end our tour around the North Island.

Cons: There was nothing not to like this place is an absolute gem!

Pros: Great central location, room had lots of space. Breakfast was good. Pool was open but we didnt have a chance to use it.

Cons: Bed was a little hard for our liking, but thats just personal preference
