Great location at the bay

Pros: Great location opposite the Paihia Wharf. Nice staff, and beautiful view from the common rooms on the bay. I booked the private room which was pretty basic (as expected) but sufficient for our 2 night stay. The bed was, however, very comfortable.

Cons: Too expensive in my opinion.

Pros: Nice, clean hostel, great location and kitchen.

Cons: I was in a room where it was like 30 degrees all night, no airconditioning, just a few fans which didnt work. Didnt sleep much because of the heat and the noise.

Pros: Really nice showers and nice to have a privacy certain, kitchen was well equipped and clean, comfy beds too. Staff were very friendly and helped with questions

Pros: Stayed here a couple of time and also a wonderful stay with the staff and facility. And not to mentioned a spectacular view towards the beach.

Cons: The quality of the stay kinds depends on the ppl you'll be bunk with. We stuck with someone made a lot of noise throughout the night and early morning and had no respect of other ppl by making huge door sound on closing it.

Pros: The living room area is spacious with nice views, lockable storage space. Location was pretty good, above plenty of eateries and close to the beach and center of town.

Cons: It was summertime and the room got too hot and stuffy, and the fans are pretty loud. The mini fan in my cubicle didn't work either. Had trouble sleeping so went to the living room which was much cooler but no way to turn the lights off to catch a snooze there. Also the car parking is a bit of walk away which isn't the most convenient if you have lots of stuff.

One of my favourite hostels since travelling Nz

Pros: So clean Great facilities The view from the kitchen - absolutely stunning The staff were top notch (especially Scott) !! He always went the extra mile, nothing was ever too much hassle, and I loved how he helped organise socials with other travellers in the hostel. This is genuinely so appreciated when youre travelling solo, it made meeting people so much easier and gave the hostel a really nice welcoming and community vibe - couldnt recommend here any higher <3

Excellent location if not the best sleep

Pros: Location was perfect, on the main beach road just opposite the pier where the ferry to Russell departs. The views from the common area were spectacular! The staff were friendly and approachable.

Cons: We had a twin en suite room and it was super stuffy. There was no window that could be opened and there didnt seem to be any ventilation in the room. We slept with our door open; however, then the hall light shine in all night long. The common area was really hot and airless. The first night we were there. I think the air-conditioning was finally turned on the second night.

Cons: In our room, some beds didn't have lights, some power points not working. Some beds didn't have small fans. My bed was lumpy. Said tea and coffee available but there was none due to a coffee machine having been ordered. Should have had instant on hand until the machine was installed

Pros: The shared facilities are really great.

Cons: The rooms are tiny with really small windows and zero air flow. My room had a large restaurant extraction fan out side of the cat flat size window which went off all through the night and sounds like a helicopter is landing in your room.

Pros: The hostel was very clean in general, the kitchen was well equipped and the views are stunning!

Cons: The rooms are not really big and the windows cannot be opened which makes them very warm and stuffy. Moreover, especially room number 13 was really small so that only one person could stand in it at a time.
