    TICKS in the room in the beds!

    Pros: Checkin was ok. Property exterior was clean, good decorations on walls. Floors in room were laminate, so easy to feel clean.
    Cons: Almost everything was subpar at the Deer Haven Inn. Room with two Queen beds was extremely poorly designed very uncomfortable. No chairs except a table with two chairs which was squeezed between bed and wall with a few inches to navigate around it. The lamp on the table was so big and too large to be of use for the table. Several ick factors were found in the bathroom: Toilet was not clean, plastic slip proof bath mat was stained with gross black spots, very unsightly, should have been trashed. First nite I took my dog out to potty and the lighting was poor in the parking lot, so I actually stepped off the planter area curb in a darker area, and it was so high that I fell because i could not see well. Awful. However, the Worst part was we found TICKS crawling on the bed! Three ticks found on our beds over a period of two days. Sooo Grossed out! My dog has never had ticks on him. We immediately inspected ourselves and our dog, shook out all clothing and took several showers a day to make sure we didn't have ticks on us. We have stayed in a hotel around the corner from the Deer haven inn at least 7 times in the past and never had any ticks in the room. It was a horrible feeling to think that ticks might be crawling on us as we slept. We did have our dog with us, but it was impossible to tell where the ticks came from. All we knew was that they were crawling around our room. (We cut our stay short and left to stay at another hotel nearby, NO TICKS there!) We captured the three ticks and showed them to the hotel staff before leaving and asked for a refund. They just said it was tick season and could do nothing. Really unacceptable. Will never stay there again.

    I always enjoy it here and will be back!

    Pros: Close to the beach and quiet.
    Cons: Nothing really not to like I did notice in the room I was in that the toilet seem very close to the wall and you had to come in and shut the door before you could use the toilet, or the door was in the way.. just a weird configuration in the bathroom but otherwise very nice.
