About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    It’s perfect for a one...

    Pros: It’s exactly what your paying for a place to lay your head for a night so you can catch a flight staffs nice you get breakfast even offer parking and a shuttle to and from the airport and right next to the airport
    Cons: The beds are a little uncomfortable. The pillows are small the blankets are are thin

    Pros: Nothing especially no heat
    Cons: No heat and only possible heat was a small space heater. It was 20 degrees outside and there werent any extra blankets provided or offered.

    Pros: Disappointed, you should remove the Days Inn from your list, book in Winsor Lock (BDL AIRPORT), the dirty hotel we paid for and we had to share the hallways with wanderers...today I arrived at one with my family in (Virginia) DAYS INN, the lousy dirty hotel. They had to change rooms twice because dirty water came out of the shower. VERIAN BOOKING HAS MORE RESPECT FOR THEIR CLIENTS.

    Days Inn filled my needs...

    Pros: Check in went smoothly and my questions were answered. My driver was informative and pleasant and helpful on the ride to the airport.
    Cons: The selection should be expanded for breakfast time. Examples are : More varieties in bagels and cereal.

    Pros: For my purpose, which was to get a good nights sleep before proceeding home after a long, late night flight, the hotel was perfect.

    Not a good choice

    Cons: I was given a room that smelled, when I went to check the window it was propped open with a cup. I closed and attempted to lock the window and it would not work. It was basically falling out of the frame. The room was peeling paint and stained. I was given another room which was fine but wonder why I was given the VERY unsafe trashy room first. Would not stay here again.

    Pros: The only thing to like is that it literally cannot be closer to the airport unless it was on the runway. The price is great but you get what you pay for (now see what I didn't like).
    Cons: Where to start? Desk clerk unattentive. Room stunk like smoke. Outside door unlocked and lock broken. Room not clean. Room fridge stunk. Not updated since the 80s it seems. Smoke smell in a non-smoking room was unbearable. Get what you pay for I guess.
