About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Worst nightmare hotel!! Would never book a Days Inn again! Especially this one.

Pros: Nothing - there is no good thing to say about this Days Inn, we even took off the same day we checked in as spending a night there was unbearable.

Cons: It needs renovation, door of bathroom didnt even close, everything was really dirty and rusty (sheets, bathroom!!!, TV, floor), cockroaches all over the place (dead and alive)

Cons: Water in shower didn't get hot, had to request tv remote, dirty towels (fortunately I always travel with my own), bugs crawling around sink, cracked tile around wall of shower, sofa arms ripped Microwave was dirty. Ice bucket but no cups.

Pros: This hotel is ALWAYS ready to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. We are ALWAYS arriving late at night and the desk clerk has always been so kind to check us un with no complaints. Very Nice place to stay, especially for business. Many great restaurants within walking distance.

Pros: This is my second stay here recently. Everything was excellent. No problems period. They do a good job with customer service and the rooms were always clean! Everything worked.

The Roaches are DISRESPECTFUL

Cons: I have never had to say this about any place Ive stayed, but this place was absolutely disgusting. We had a double room smoking. Only one bed had pillows, there was no fridge or microwave, the room was stuffy upon entering, no remote for the TV , no ice bucket or basic things such as soap, cups, ashtrays, garbage can, or wash cloths. But the worst part... The roaches were DISRESPECTFUL! There were so many crawling around I didn't sleep. If it weren't for the fact that I just drove 12 hours and it was 1 AM when I arrived, (the hotel I pulled up to prior was sold out...) I wouldn't have stayed. I was scared to close my eyes, take of my clothes, and eat anything for fear of the roaches and it cost $100. I've stayed in cheaper hotels and never saw a roach. If you're headed out that way... keep driving. Next time I'll sleep in my car.

Pros: Party going on three doors down. Brown stains on bed cover. Wet wash cloth on rack. Staff cme to my door twice, once to ask who checked me in as if I didn't check in. Really a "hood" experience all round. Terrible part of town. Wouldn't stay there again even with a gun to my head. Requesting a refund. Thanks.
