Pros: I was really pleasantly surprised. We paid 49 for a room with a double and a single in it. The Bedding was clean. Bed was comfortable. There was plenty of tea, coffee, and sugar sachets in the pot. The shower was the best I've had in years, the water pressure is high, and you get a really envigorating shower to wake you up in the morning! The young lady on reception was really bubbly and friendly..she actually looked like she was happy to be there. My initial thought when we booked was I just need a clean bed.. but this really exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it.

Cons: The bottle of body wash/shower gel was empty, and one of the mugs hadn't been washed properly, Minor issues, though.

One night stay En route to Cornwall

Pros: Handy as a midway stop En route to Cornwall. Has varied eateries to choose from.

Cons: Upon check in, none of the actual rooms I had booked (3 in total as it was a family stay) were allocated correctly - specifically reserved a mobility friendly double - was given 3 upstairs rooms! Had to then wait and sort this at reception whilst being questioned on who had the mobility issue. That family member was then looked up and down by the lady at reception who was almost trying to see for herself if it was warranted (my dad uses a walking stick and is extremely unsteady on his feet after a serious illness.) I pointed out that she did not need to check up on the individual. The room was sorted to a downstairs room but ended up as the triple room that Id booked for myself, my husband and daughter! Needless to say, none of the rooms were allocated correctly and this took over 15 minutes to rectify. Whilst waiting, both check in forms were completed with both car registrations specified - a week after returning from our holiday, both ourselves and my parents received a parking fee notification for having used their car park without paying! They clearly hadnt registered our cars due to staying at the hotel. This has taken over 10 emails to sort, as whilst responding to my charge notification and confirming it has been cancelled their end due to their incompetence, trying to get them to email confirmation of my Dads cancellation has been like pulling teeth!! Rooms themselves are in need of updating, however I appreciate that when paying for a somewhat budget hotel (albeit over 100 a night) youre not going to get the Ritz!! Despite non-smoking rooms, you could smell smoke. Beds werent comfy. And the shower was in need of a good refurb. We will not be using this hotel again. For the money, Im sure we could find a B&B more suitable.
