About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Pros: Very inexpensive room. Clean, very comfortable bed. Advertised breakfast was coffee or juice and a granola bar, but for the price that was fine with us.Fee for dogs was $15 each.

Cons: Very difficult to find getting off I77. Not easy off and on. Not very soundproof either. Charged a $100 deposit in case of any damages.Hope it gets refunded to my credit card.

Cons: It took about 4 hours to heat our room enough to take off our coats.The room was dirty. The carpet was so bad we had to wear shoes. There wasn't hot water for a shower.The desk clerk was VERY rude when I went to the office to ask about the heat.

Don’t stay here!!!!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: We were told because we had 3 dogs we could not stay there. Most places have just charged and extra pet fee because we have older dogs. My husband and I were debating even if we wanted to stay before checking in because of the state of the property . When making reservations we had until 6:00 to cancel - it was a few minutes after and we didn’t get our money back. This place is really a dump. Do not stay here.

Pros: The hotel fail to reinstate their $100 security deposit. I took a video of the room verifiying that everything was in tack on Oct 30 2023 when I checked out. Scams makes your business bad

Pros: Nothing. Said there was a free breakfast, it was coffee, juice and a nutragrain bar. Thats all. The ad lied. I put the rest in the dislike paragraph

Cons: Yes. People going back & forth in front of our room & fighting going on till about 3:30am. People running up & down the stairs to the 2nd floor, cars coming & going till about 3:30am. Not a proper lock on the door. Felt unsafe, couldnt sleep at all.
