About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Avoid this place

Pros: The bed was better than expected considering the otherwise "garbage" look and feel of the place. The shower had plenty of hot water. Sushi bar right down the street, super market close by as well. IHOP on the corner.

Cons: Extremely overpriced for what you get. The place smells bad and looked like the previous room cleaning was rushed and with their eyes closed. Paper thin walls so you hear every car engine. No security at all - we had to call the front desk when a lady in a room next to us was screaming at the top of her lungs... honestly she and her man seemed like they were junkies, no joke. Very low-end clientele to say the least. The room has no closet and no drawers to put your stuff. Simply put we will never ever stay here again.

Pros: Location and price but....

Cons: Dirty grounds, burnt out light bulb, room smelled of cigarettes and Marijuana when room was supposed to be nonsmoking. Sheets and Towels were stained and rough. Other tenants were "riff-raff" homeless in and around property. Elevator, vending machine and dresser were broken! Did not get room reserved. No breakfast! Smoke alarm disconnected and found in drawer. Will never return or recommend!

Cons: The hotel room was very dirty and as soon as we walk into the room and turn on the lights, we see roaches on the floor and walls. The room smelled like heavy smoke. The room had broken lights in the ceiling. Their were stains on the couch, bed and walls.

I am writing this at 7 in the morning in the room I booked and for which I am very sorry and upset, there are several homeless people sleeping at the door of my room with music and tobacco smoke coming through my window and I feel very unsafe, I have called the reception twice, once they came and told them that they must leave, the second time I called and said they came back the receptionist simply told me "call the police, I already told them to leave. I have photographs of homeless people living outside the rooms, I have a video where the music is heard. 2. The bathroom doesn't work, we lifted the lid and there was a piece of clothing (boxer shorts) with poop in the clean water!!!! This was horrible and made me throw up, besides the bugs on the floor, I have pictures. 3. It was one in the morning and there were people walking through the parking lot looking at the cars and knocking on the room doors!!!! I need my money back! It was a horrible experience, I couldn't rest and in 1 hour I have an important work meeting!

If you want too sleep...

Pros: Breakfast was coffee and power bar the staff was doing schedule and was too busy to interact with customers for basic needs my bathroom was dirty towel was dirty when I received room I told front desk she said I had too return the dirty towel to get a new towel that's unsanitary I didn't want to touch anything in the room.

Cons: You have false marking on this hotel fake complimentary breakfast was coffee and power bar hotel room was non smoking which smelled like smoke I will never go to this dirty rat infested stinky pee elevator just nasty nasty ....sorry but false! Pictures on website look nice that's the only thing that looks good other then that they use Wynham name but false advertising it was like a trailer park in the back
